Cafe Del Rio

Had lunch here on the terrace overlooking Mobile Bay and Mobile skyline on a beautiful day with my wife and two neighbor guest. From the time we entered for lunch and the time we left with free self serve ice cream cones, we all agreed that the service and food was way above the normal Mexican Restaurants flair. Presentation and service was top shelf. The chips and sauce was top self. The thin, warm, crisp chips are made in house, as are the tortillas. The sauce thick, chunky, and well balance flavored. All the food on our plates was really good except their cheese enchiladas. They may have been good, except they were just warm. The cheese filling had never melted and the corn tortilla was not soft because it was not hot. The only reason we are not giving them the five star rating. With that said, we will return and expect the enchiladas to be as great. Their cheese sauce is to die for.

My family used to love this restaurant. The cheese dip and salsa were great along with the entrees. The restaurant seems to have changed management because my last few times have been average. I would not recommend if you want a good meal. Go down the road to Blue Gill.

First time here. Love the metal art all around the restaurant! Came during happy hour and was surprised to find out there was a complimentary taco bar included! Delicious! The peach margaritas are the bomb! Warning: they are very strong! Bar tender told us it had the most liquor of all the frozen margaritas! This is not on special during happy hour but is soooo worth it! Great friendly staff, clean and fun environment! Will definitely return!

Food was okay. Service was terrible. We had to wait 2.5 hours for a table, 2 hours for food. The waitress (bless her heart) worked her butt off without any help from anyone. She did a fantastic job with what she could do. The management staff pretty much refused to help her. I’ll be damned if I ever come back because their managers royally suck ass.

Good food! The only problem we had was that the tortillas for the fajitas were hard and had to be sent back. Oh and my cup was dirty and had to be sent back for a new one. Other than that, it was a great atmosphere and delicious!
