California Dreaming Restaurant

I have always loved California Dreaming. It was a very important restaurant in my life. I didn't give it 5 stars for two reasons... my husband and I both ordered the 16oz prime rib medium rare, they came out and one was 1/2 the size of the other. Sent it back and they corrected quickly. They forgot my sides and I had to ask. My prime rib was more medium to medium well, waitress said, "would you like me to get a manager to come over?" Call me a stickler for customer service, but she shouldn't have asked, she should have just sent one over. I will still praise the restaurant and recommend. Just a little disappointed in this one visit.

We had a group of 13 for my MIL's birthday. I ordered the chicken Alfredo. The chicken pieces were very good,but there was hardly any sauce! It was SO DRY I couldn't eat it! I told my daughter and she said she noticed someone at another table that had ordered the same as me and didn't eat theirs either. CD, quit being stingy with the sauce! They flavors are good, but you'd choke on it because it's SO DRY! And 2 others in our party had to send back their steaks. Ordered medium well and both were VERY well done!

Great ambiance! This former train station converted into California Dreaming was a great find and date place for my wife and I. The ambiance is better than the food. The food is bland and I had the blackened chicken pasta. Large portion sizes, so if you come with your on seasonings you'll be good to go.

I've heard this place is wonderful. I would rate it good not great. Salad is standard romaine lettuce out of the bag ( but it had bacon on it). The She Crab soup tasted alright but had a weird consistency. Finally the temperature was not adjusted correctly and we were all freezing.

On our way from Charleston to Greenville, tried out the dinner on a Wednesday evening. Waiter wasn't pleasant. Tables were very close and noisy. Appetizer came with the main course even though we specifically requested to get early. Salad was right out of the bag. Main course was OK. Desert cheese cake was the worst. Plain and foul tasting. My stomach start floating and growling right after eating it. I would not recommend this place.
