Chicago Canine Rescue is a wonderful place with dedicated staff with big hearts and the most amazing dogs.
I picked multiple awesome dogs to play with...But, clearly one of them ("Charm") only had eyes for me, skirting all the toys and great distractions to plop at my feet. She did the same when my husband came to meet her...
So for the past 1 1/2 years, she has been our #1 family member. She comes on vacations, she goes to the park and the woods. She takes 3 long walks a day and conducts multiple backyard squirrel investigations.
She never lets us out of her sight, except for naps! She makes strangers smile even if they are in a bad mood.
And, for that and more... We love Chicago Canine Rescue!
Anna brought 'Charm' to us to do a home visit after we applied to adopt her. (Anna was just about as excited as we were that Oakley was coming to live with us).
Can you imagine how many times shelter staff falls in love with a dog and works hard to find them a home where they will have the best life possible...and then has to quickly move on to help the next one.
I can't thank Chicago Canine Rescue enough, and also the pilots that flew our dog in from Oklahoma to the shelter (we named her Oakley to honor her roots).
I'd like to recognize the wonderful staff at Chicago Canine Rescue and all the volunteer dog walkers. I smile every time I drive to Marianos, seeing all the dogs being walked in the woods by staff and volunteers.
Everytime a dog is adopted, they help another dog ...They get attached, but focus on each dog's happy ending and then move on to help another.
So, thank you Chicago Canine Rescue for sharing your love and overtime to bring us remarkable pets. We love them so much, as we do Chicago Canine Rescue!!!

I have such a great time volunteering here. The staff are so friendly and they take such great care of all of the dogs there. This is a wonderful place to find a home for a pup in need.

I have adopted two dogs from CCR over the last few years. They take in dogs and cats from other shelters, many of which would be euthanized due to medical issues. Medical treatment and sometimes surgery is performed to save the lives of their canine and feline residents. They depend on donations of pet food, supplies, toys and treats, and of course cash to continue their operations. Volunteers help to keep the shelter continue to do its good work!

There are so many dogs and cats without homes... this is a non kill shelter where you can go walk dogs and spend time with them and you could see it in their faces it makes them smile! The directors here at the canine rescue are very nice people and the staff is wonderful!
