I have been donating and associated with this shelter since 2001, and it's always been a good organization when it comes to caring for the ferrets. I think it's good that they have high standards for adoption (having a child is not the same as caring for a ferret, neither is having other kinds of previous pets--not the same at all!). They want to make certain that the ferrets aren't put into neglectful homes or placed with people who have no idea what they're getting into with these pets, the time commitment, the costs, etc. THANK YOU to all the volunteers who work there saving fuzzy lives.

Great place to get your next lovable pet. They do a great job taking care of the ferrets while they try and find them forever homes. Great place to volunteer as well, the staff is very friendly and the ferrets are fun to be around.

This place is a joke. I would never recommend anyone to waist their time coming here. The staff member with purple hair and glasses was absolutely horrible.. she had holes all in her clothes, wasn't wearing shoes or socks, and just had the most brutal attitude. Not once did she mention anything good about a ferret. We literally sat and listened to her for an hour, saying all but negative things. She had asked us if we knew any of the diseases a ferret can have and then went on about how 95% ferrets have cancer by a young age, and basically kept going on and on about how they're just going to die. Because we knew such little information about the diseases, it felt as if she didn't want us to get them so she kept telling us how they die and basically kept talking about it thinking we would never want to get one. She also kept joking about death with animals and just laughed about it. She told us her cat was down to 5 pounds at one time.... She also told us it's funny to watch a cat turn yellow because it's about to die, then said it's fun for her but not for the cat. This went on for an hour.. she finally shows us the ferrets and note they're all grown to their capacity, yet they look as small as a 4 month old ferret, but they're a year and a half. She basically showed us all the bad and unhealthy ferrets. As if she didn't want anyone to adopt the better ones. If I could give this place a -5 star I would. This staff member needs to go.

I volunteer here with my children every week. Rather than buy the cute ferret at the pet store, adopt! Not only will you give a ferret a good home, you will prevent more ferrets from coming into our shelter.
