Heartland Animal Shelter

I've been volunteering here for over a year now, mainly with the dogs, although I love the cats too! The volunteers and staff workers are incredible people. The shelter is always extremely clean. The cats and dogs are well-taken care of, too. Everyone who is a part of the shelter works together to ensure that the dogs and cats go to great homes as well! Come visit Heartland if you're looking to adopt a dog or a cat!!

Adopted a wonderful dog from here. This is a great shelter with staff that really cares. To the self absorbed people leaving negative reviews. The job of the shelter is not to make you happy, it's to represent the best interests of the animals in their charge. They have to do that on very limited resources and based on very short interaction... A lot of folks come through this place. Maybe you are a great person and they wrongfuly dismissed you but on the flip side if all people were all that great we wouldn't need these shelters to begin with. So suck it up buttercup and drop off some blankets or donate a few $$$.

There's a lot of negative reviews on here about the lady who works here. It's true. I won't go into details for fear of being identified. Not only is she rude, she is a RACIST. What should have been a happy process was made incredibly uncomfortable. She is a disgusting and ignorant woman!

Such loving volunteers. Had a wonderful experience getting our dog here.
