It is definitely a good cause - however, the staff isn't all that great.
For starters, they really cannot "hold" an adoption for you. So if you fall in love with a certain dog, the chances are high that by the time you can fill out the paper work, the dog has already been adopted.
When we were inquiring about a certain pup, the staff was just overall rude. It did not seem as though they wanted us to adopt at all. We have 2 little pups at home, so we are more than capable of taking care of a dog. Unfortunately, it did not seem as though they were on board.
We came in on Sunday and fell in love with a 1 year old. We wanted to come in the next day (Monday) to bring our pups from home to see if they would get along. Call back on Monday morning right when they open, she has already been adopted. Although we are more than thrilled that she found a home, we would have really liked if they did not get our hopes up.
We will not be coming back to this shelter.

The staff is very friendly. They help make sure that the right animal goes to the right family. Reasonable adoption fee. There can be other pricing if your animal needs other things at the vet when you pick the animal up. I adopted a dog from here. The shelter is very clean and does not smell. It is noisy when the dogs bark but that’s normal since your in shelter. Will adopt here again. They have a nice walking path that you can take the dog that you are interested in on walk. And they also have play pens

This is a very large rescue, that houses a lot of dogs, the majority of which are 3 years or older, as well as large breed dogs. Getting help or guidance was somewhat difficult and the overall experience was a bit confusing. At first sight it appeared that there were employees everywhere. However, when I attempted to ask questions about adoption procedures or inquire about various dogs, it turned out that all those people weren't actual employees, they were volunteers and they weren't able to answer any questions or assist us in anyway. We were instead directed to a small desk, buried under piles and piles of papers, two phones ringing and one man, who frankly spoke very broken English, trying to single handedly take care of a lot of chaos on his own. When I attempted to direct my questions regarding a specific dog to him, he was only able to provide very vague and fairly confusing answers.
That being said, the entire property was extremely clean and appeared very well maintained, which I found impressive, especially based on the size. The many volunteers who were there, were always actively engaged in either cleaning or walking/interacting with the animals. And although they weren't able to answer any questions, they were all extremely polite and appeared to be genuinely happy and enjoying what they were doing.

I'm glad they decided to rearrange the cat area. The first time I went to Orphans, there were so many cats you couldn't even walk in the room. Now they have a few separate areas for the cats and the larger room has fewer than before by far. The kennels are always full, but every time I go there to see a specific dog the answer is always "oh, that ones sick." This has happened three times. Their website never said anything about those dogs being sick or unable to be seen by people. We ended up adopting a dog through a foster program instead. I will say this for Orphans: the very best cat I've ever had was adopted from them.

A really wonderful place to find a new best friend. A great rescue that we have adopted several pets from.
