Anderson Animal Shelter

Wonderful welcoming place! Spent 4 hrs there visiting from out of town. Volunteers are fantastic. Very clean and well cared for.

We rescued our Gracie almost 2 months ago and our hearts have come back to life. Our first rescue from Anderson was roughly 13 years ago. When Daisy passed away 2 years ago we needed time to heal.. and it wasn't until this past March that we started the search for our Gracie and turned to Anderson. The staff here made the decision simple and easy, working and talking through the process. We met volunteers who love serving there and there was no pressure over deciding quickly. The facility is clean, the staff is very friendly and loving and the adoption is quick and easy (which is a good thing when your excited to begin this new adventure) Great organization, Great experience! Miss Gracie is loving her new life as a OTR truck dog, while it did take her a little adjusting to all the bumps and vibration in the truck, being in a family-pact 24/7 makes it a no brainer. The cuddles are ongoing and the kisses are non-stop. Thanks guys for everything you do!!

The place closes at 7. I got there at 6:30 and they were too busy to help my brother and I. It was the only day/time we were both available. We are bummed that we didn’t get to figure out what dog would be the best fit for us. They tried to be nice but it was very apparent that they didn’t want us there. Not that I blame them but they should have more of a “pick a number” style of servicing customers if they are that busy so they can effectively help one person at a time instead of running all over the place and burning themselves out even faster.

I came in today to donated some food that I had and when I came in there were 2 ladies at the front desk and they looked at me like I was doing something wrong for being there and I was like I just came to donatedthis food. the lady looked at me and was like put it over there against the wall and I proceeded to do that and asked me if I wanted a receipt I said no, soon as I was done I try to tell them to have a good day but no they ignore me completely and they pretend I wasn't even there. I don't need a medal for doing a donation but would been nice to be treated like they were even a little grateful.
