Reviews
I'm going to give the honest unbiased review. First with the positive Richard is a good tailor with menswear suits he gets a 5 star for that and his wife is super nice and engaging. The two suits he did for me for two weddings (one for a clients/friends wedding, and the other for my sisters wedding) were great. When I recommended my mother go to him because of his great work for me, she entrusted me and went to him. He did not do a good job with tailoring her dress and was very combative with my mother and sister. My mother is not combative or confrontational person at all she would just rather pay for a bad job then dispute. My sister was getting married in less than a week and went with my mother to see the tailoring job for my mothers dress that my mother was wearing to my sisters wedding. When I heard the frustration from my sister about the bad stitching, I came in the next day to calmly inquire about the issue, I saw the half job done with the stitching and calmly commented and pointed the bad stitching job on it, the owner Richard then sarcastically and rudely asked me try on my mothers dress. Now the evolved and matured me with a high paying government job and a sisters wedding in less than a week let him slide with the total disrespect, without retaliating in violence and dragging him all through Columbia Mall, but the three year ago version of me without the high paying job or sisters wedding in less than a week, I can promise the scenario would have been much different. I professionally and calmly paid him, thanked him for my tailored suit, and walked out.
My mother found another tailor in Baltimore who did the job better and without issues. For that comment and combativeness alone I will never do business with the owner Richard again. Below is the bad stitching done on my mothers dress.
I'm writing this review in hopes Richard tones down his anger and chooses his words wiser for future customers who might react differently/violently towards his combativeness in my position and not have as much to lose as myself.

I'll start this off by saying that I rarely take the time to leave reviews. However, my experience here was so horrible that I needed to share.
My brother has frequented this tailor for a couple of years now and suggested him to my mother, father, and I as we sought a professional tailor for my wedding this past February. My brother's first few experiences here were awesome, per his remarks, which led my mother to give them her business.
After several rounds of tailoring (letting the waist area out and covering a mesh-lined bust area), my mother's dress wasn't nearly flattering. Concerning the bust area, the work had been so haphazardly done that I was legitimately worried she would need to find a new dress (less than two weeks before my wedding). Still, at this point, I hadn't given up hope and instead wanted to speak directly to the tailor to figure out a solution.
I have NEVER had such disappointing customer service with a professional tailor. He was rude, snarky, argued with me and seemed to almost be talking down to me because of my disappointment in the work completed thus far. It should also be noted that, at this point, my mother had already paid $300 in alterations, some of which were completed INCORRECTLY. He charged an additional $150 to FIX his own MISTAKE. He was clearly miffed about me having an opinion on my mother's dress for my own wedding and on more than one occasion said, in a snarky way, "You have all of these problems, why don't YOU pay for it yourself." Seriously? I was prepared to pay for the alterations since my mom had paid so much already, but because of the disrespect, I REFUSED to give him any of my hard-earned money. This was literally one of the worst parts of my entire wedding planning experience (so much so that I've remembered and am writing a review 3 months into my marriage)!
I'm sure not everyone has had this same experience, but if I can warn you to think twice, I would have done my job. Beware!

Richard is phenominal. He is nothing but class and customer service. I have had him alter Gucci belts, Diesel jeans and dress clothes. The work they perform is perfect and always on time. The pricing is very fair for the work they do. I’d highly recommend them for all of your tailoring needs.

Richard (owner) is a hilarious, cool, down to earth family guy. Always has my kids laughing and has been in business since I was a little boy. I remember my parents going to Richards shop back when he used to be in Montgomery county and I have followed him to custom tailor of Columbia. He's honest, does great work and his price is fair. Wouldn't go to anyone else. I've had custom work done to simple pants hemmed. Cant keep everyone happy and i guess thats why there have been some misunderstandings according to some negative comments that I couldn't believe. Anyway great person, great work, fair price! That's for real!
