Due South

We split the strawberry pecan salad and the blackened catfish. Well prepared, served at appropriate temperatures. Flavorful. Excellent service. Our son had the beef brisket. Good flavor, but much fat. Beautiful urban renewal. No problems parking.

Due South came highly recommended and last night we finally had an opportunity to try. It was a nice place to eat, the service and the attention given to us was very good. We started with the mini crab melt and the fried green tomatoes. They were both the best appetizers ever. My wife and I did decided to share the half chicken entree. When they delivered it to our table it reminded me of Mission BBQ. Due South uses the metal trays as well. The chicken was good but was missing half of the wing. The kale greens and potato salad were ok. The way the food is served, I don't recommend sharing. You will use the same mini saucers you used for the appetizers, or eat off of the same metal tray. Either way it was uncomfortable. With so many choices for great Bar-B-Que/ Southern food for less than half the price, in this area, I don't know if I will ever be back. It's a good place but very low on value for money spent.

Perfect for dinner before a game. AMAZING food! Great Southern comfort cooking! And the service was spectacular! The chef even came our to say hi to my 10 year old because he had said he wished he could thank the chef personally. Highly recommended.

Great, reliable food. They have a nice patio for outdoor dining and a large bar for watching sports. For has a southern flavor, think fried chicken, potato salad and hush puppies. Consistently good and not usually too bad of a wait. One of my go-to spots in DC for dinner or lunch.

Due South is an amazing BBQ joint right next to the Potomac and Navy Yard. The staff are quick to greet you and find your group a table. Immediately after being seated they take your order and the food comes relatively quickly. I would recommend ordering the traditional BBQ items on the menu as they are best at cooking those. Their healthy options such as the salmon and grilled chicken are not quite up to par.
