Fawn Lakes Campground

Charley & Cindy Dicky were the hosts, a couple of Texans, they were very kind & helped us get situated after a long ride. We camped next to a nice creek - it rains that night & the temps were cool (a nice relief from Dallas). I don’t remember Amy showers - that would have been nice. You must go back to town for showers.

Very nice area. But they will charge you for a whole day visit even if you just want to spend an hour there for a picnic.

Only a couple of complaints no showers And fire restrictions but absolutely beautiful campgrounds👍

One of several developed Forest Service Campgrounds on the Red River between the villages of Red River and Questa. Accessible via NM 38, the park is located on the south side of the road approximately 2 miles west of Red River. Fairly open campsites along the small Red River with trails to a pair of nearby ponds, the "Fawn Lakes." Like the other parks along the Red River, Fawn Lakes is HEAVILY used during the summer months--so be advised. While services, such as water and restrooms, are closed during the winter months, the campsites themselves can be used for free, providing prospective campers do not mind humping their gear up from the highway (50-150 yards)

They need to be more pet friendly or they lose potential guests indoor event current Guess from coming back
