FIVE Tuscaloosa

Wonderful quirky venue with courteous and timely service. Our party of 6 was seated without a wait for a Saturday lunch. Recommend getting there by 11:30 because they are a popular lunch spot. Food was tasty with generous portions. Enjoyed the art lining the walls and the eclectic mix of lighting fixtures. Will definitely go back for more!

Fun place to eat with good food. Five of everything on the menu; my favorites are the Uptown Chicken appetizer, the Panéed Chicken, and the Cheeseburger. Pretty much everything is great though. This place is usually crowded, and I would expect a wait on weekends. Also, the bar can be loud, but we tend to sit outside instead. I definitely recommend FIVE to anyone wanting a fun, upbeat atmosphere with delicious food. Prices can be steep, 2 people with drinks and an appetizer can be about $60.

Overall, I'd say Five is overpriced for the quality of food they serve. It's not a bad place by any means (there's rarely a bad place, just bad pricing). As such, I find it way excessive that their shrimp pasta costs what it does, when you can walk exactly 2 minutes around the block to have a similar delicious shrimp pasta at Central Mesa. With that in mind, when I go to Five, I always have their burger. It's well cooked, the salad that comes with it is excellent (and helps justify the overall bit-too-high prices at this establishment) and the fries are also good. Considering their quite limited menu - as they're going with the Five of everything theme - it's a good place to come eat, but I'd either only order the burger, or wait until they wake up and bring prices down. Their food just isn't good enough to justify the amount they're trying to charge you.

Food was well prepared and seasoned. Our only gripe was that the daily catch market price ended up being $33. I know Tuscaloosa is far from the water, but it was a little too pricey.
