Fox Valley Restaurant

Words cannot describe what great food comes from the kitchen of this restaurant. It saddens me to know I just ate my last order of crab cakes! I took tiny bites to make the moment last as long as it could. Ordering crab cakes from anywhere else have never been the same for me since having my first order in 2010. This place and atmosphere will be greatly missed. And the soups are delicious!!

The Fox Valley Restaurant is a local treat for those of us privileged enough to know about its existence! One of the best kept secrets in the Alabaster/Helena/Maylene area. The staff and service is always courteous and quick, and the food... Well... let's just say "steak n' cake" is one for the record books. I dare you not to fall in love!

A great place to "wine" down and have some delectable dinner options. It's a hidden gem off the beaten path, but well worth the trip. Consider making a reservation ahead of time just in case it fills up quickly. The flavor of the restaurant is very relaxing, inviting you to have a cocktail in the lounge or sample one of the many wines from their sizeable list. And don't forget to try out their crab cakes - the appetizer isn't too big of a portion, but your taste buds will be pleased you did! They have several amazing dishes, good sized portions, and some shareable side options - I'd recommend everyone ordering a variety and dining family style by passing the sides, over stimulating their palate with what the place has to offer. Don't expect dinner to be cheap, but you won't find it overpriced either in comparison. Average price of a meal is around $20, with some meals including sides.

This was our first visit. I have to say the service was spot on and everyone was very hospitable. My favorite was the Crispy Spinach!!! Very addictive and light. Finish it fast though; once it gets cold it loses its luster. Our steaks were fabulous...mine could have been a bit more medium since there was a lack of any pink. Two major complaints! The outside was very unkempt and in dire need of landscaping. Our table inside was near a door and there were lots of rolly pollys on the floor. Also no music!!! We could hear everyone's conversation. That was my biggest negative. The meal was delicious and worth the price...hope to come back again.

The Steak and Cake is Never disappointing! Food is always delicious and prepared as ordered. Atmosphere and decor could use a good makeover but I'm sure it's been the way for 25 years. Food is delicious.
