My husband and I camped here a couple of times in the past And we had talked about how the place could use a face lift etc. We returned to find that it is under new ownership and we are thrilled about it, they have really turn this place into a clean environment, they have upgraded, painted and cleaned everything the adult lounge looks brand new, before it had old encyclopedias and games it was very very dated, all of that is gone! They have the store looking fresh and clean. The restrooms/showers are all neat and clean. The staff is wonderful, everyone is friendly and will help you with anything you may need. The staff before was rude especially the ones that work inside the store area. So glad to come here and see what they have done and we are extremely happy!! Thank you!

After looking at pictures online and reading some great reviews we were very disappointed to be placed in a site that looked like it had been dug up with piles of dirt everywhere, a fire pit that was surrounded by grown in brush and a picnic table that was flipped over, covered in ants and rotting. I had just payed half the price the night before for a much nicer site at another campground. So I called the desk and nicely stated that this was unacceptable. I at least want my kids to be able to sit at a table by the fire. They were very nice on the phone and a gentleman came and nicely placed us in a much better site. It was handicap so I'm assuming they were very full. This site was nice. The campground seems clean and is definitely full of seasonal campers. Not a great first impression but left feeling much better. We thank you for accommodating our requests.

Lot's of trees squirrels and birds. Stayed here a total of 5 weeks at two separate times. Nice staff, very quiet, beautiful lake, there are cabins to rent. Many long term campers. Second stay we were snowed in for about four days. This place is probably very popular in Summer. The only downside is that there was a lot of deferred maintenance. Thousand Trails owned park and deferred maintenance is typical for this membership group. Open to public camping as well.

We stayed at Forest Lake for two weeks in October 2017. Our previous stay was only 2 nights, so we wanted to come back. It is a large campground, with a variety of campsites. We ended up in a decent 50AMP full hookup back-in that was level and uphill from the main lodge and other activities. We walked the extensive trail system, we ate at the small restaurant in the lodge, and we ventured out to local parks, restaurants and stores all the way to Greensboro. This is a good campground, lots to do and we would come back.

My family, 3 boys under the age of 12, my wife and Black Lab all stayed at the Forest Lake for a long 3 day weekend. The place is huge and we stayed with another couple who has 3 kids all the same age as my boys. There was an easter egg hunt and activities to keep all the kids very busy. There is a huge pond for fishing, basketball courts and enough to keep everything running around and busy while the adults chill. My wife and I didn't have to worry about where our kids were and that allowed us to really relax and enjoy the surroundings. Keep the kids off technology and playing in the outdoors is our primary goal for camping. The campground is busy and could be cleaned up a little bit, but that just confirmed for us the campground is being used and we are okay with that. The staff is more than friendly and everyone we met was friendly and nice. There was huge late night parties and the campsite are far enough away from each other that everything doesn't feel cramped like at Pirate Land or other KOA's we've stayed at. We were so impressed with Forest Lake that we bought an annual membership and have access to 23 different campground in the entire southeast. We like to camp and typically spend 90 to 160 a weekend depending on where we stay. For one flat fate, we basically paid for all of our lodging for the summer if we stay at one of the 23 different locations and we can stay to up to a 2 full weeks if the campsite is available. We were planning a trip to Disney this year and the average cost per night per campsite is 150 bucks. Forest Lake has RV resort in Orlando and with our membership we can stay their for free which will really help us save money in the long. Since we are located only 45 minutes to Forest Lake and they have a huge pool, we can also make day trips during the summer to play in the pool and other area's Forest Lake has for kids to keep busy. For us it was money well spent and we would recommend staying at Forest Lake and taking advantage of everything we they have to offer. 5 Stars all the way.
