Our family always visits in the fall for the Wolly Worm Festival and we absolutely love this campground! We come back every year and stay in tents next to the creek and surrounded by the beautiful fall colors! Definitely recommend staying at Grandfather Mountain Campground!

The best place in the mountains to go and enjoy your camping experience, they are there in seconds when you need them,do so much to make you enjoy your stay, very friendly, and a very clean campground, I give it 5stars

The one thing that really has me disgusted about this place are the bathhouses. They're 3 of them. If you do decide to stay, I recommend staying near the entrance facilities; they are the most recently renovated from what I can tell and look to have pretty decent showers. The downfall is all the other bathhouses are pretty much falling apart. The further you get away from the enterance, the poorer quality the facilities are. One of them had their water heater exposed to the elements and plumbing was very poor. The other bathhouse(next to their pavillion, as they advertise for events) has the pieces of its structure falling down and appears to look waterlogged from the outside. The campground definitely could be clearned up a bit as far as trash disposal. Note: The cabins they advertise currently are trailers. This place seems more rv friendly sites rather than those who are camping with tents. Price was decent but not what I was expecting.

Always an enjoyable place to trek through and camp at. Cool little store and friendly staff. Bathrooms left a lot to be desired in the cleanliness department.
