Beautiful campground right next to the river, with friendly staff, but the online reservation process could be better. You can purchase a site or cabin through the website, but currently cannot schedule a date online. So if you miss the notification to call and actually reserve the spot you paid for, you may end up without a place. I recommend calling for reservations until they update this. Other than that, I've had two great experiences here!

I'm in love and even though we just returned yesterday I'm ready to go back! We came with a group of our close friends and felt right at home. The campsite is very family friendly and sits right on a beautiful Creek. The area is clean and the sites are well spaced. The cabins are unique and very space effecient considering how small they are. The gypsy cabin we rented had a queen sized bed and a bunk bed that flowed awesome together. There was heat, AC , lights and plug outlets in the gypsy if needed. Loved how homey the campsite was. The fire pits are very useful and can be cooked on with the attached grill plate that folds on top if chose to be done. The Catawba falls trail is right down the road , maybe a 5 minute walk. The trail is fairly easy unless you choose to climb beyond then it quite intense. There's ropes on the very steep areas to help but still trust your own body and judment as the earth is constantly shifting and may not hold the rope as secure in the future. I carried our ten month old daughter up the steep incline so it is possible but I do not recommend unless you are truly confident in carrying the weight and can react efficiently to the motions of a moving baby while climbing a steep incline. The view of the falls from the top was breath taking and Amazing , definitely worth it and we will be returning asap!

Stayed three days at the Catawba falls campground. The sites are really close to each other. Called to tell them after quiet hours family was screaming and shinning a flashlight at my camper. But no one would pickup the phone. The shower house smelled like mold. The plus side of the campground is it's back out in country close to the waterfall. Can walk to it instead of driving.

The campground is a combination between nightly guests and permanent residents. It is conveniently located a mile or two from Interstate 40. The staff were very helpful with backing in and also gave us help with a problem we were having. The absolute BEST thing was the babbling brook that the campers back into! The campground is family owned property. The bathrooms were excellent.

Love this place. I've lived within walking distance for over 30 yrs. Its really changed alot but it does allow an easier passage for the older and younger alike not to forget the wonderful rescue personal that from time to time have to respond to hardships. God bless everyone and be safe.
