Frederick County Department of Social Services

Applying for assistance in Oregon was so easy and quick, I don't understand how it could be so difficult. Upon the first application, they somehow didn't recieve the materials I sent in to their online system and had to reapply. Upon the second application, they called outside of my appointment time (when I was unable to answer) and they made me reschedule and wait another two weeks on account of them not honoring the appointment. I'm just a low income individual who needs assistance. Why does it have to be a stressful process that leaves me feeling helpless?

I am a single father living below poverty. I am a student and work part time. They keep saying I'm only elidgeable for 15$ a month for a family of 2. I only make 13.25 an hr. Work 30 hours a week on average. When he was living with his mom she got 300 plus in ebt tca a free house and insurance. I don't get jack but 15 a month in ebt. They keep saying is because I have a job. But they aren't smart enough to look at the numbers and figure out math. So they just keep not helping us that do work and give everything to the worthless slums. Piss poor system and it needs to change!!!! Maybe start with a staff that knows how to do math

The employees assume you know all of the ins and outs of the services they provide. No notification is provided for such things as termination of benefits, standard procedures, or required deadlines.

This agency is one of the most unprofessional, poorly run with about the worst customer service I have EVER delt with in my life. I would give it a NEGATIVE rating if I could!!!!

It's pretty much what you would expect from a social services building. I see these people get treated like crap because everyone expects to come in and be guaranteed a free ride without having to even wait their turn but the staff keep a smile and get their job done. I've never had any issues with their services. There was a minor hang up due to my boyfriends last place of work not updating their information but it was easily corrected. Just be polite and remember that these people are nice enough to help you out when you can't afford things on your own.
