Gary Police Department

Gary Indiana police have to do better. I take my kids to and from school and I barely see police cars anywhere some people may say that's a good thing not to me. The drivers are more reckless than ever cause they know there's no cops around they run stop signs speed everything u could think of they do it's 20 mph on my residential street and they are driving at least 40 or more there's kids out playing and they don't care. It's ridiculous that there's no police patrolling everywhere I mean isn't that y we pay taxes I want to feel safe in a city that I grew to like. We need more cops on the street I don't want to just c them on the first of the month and just Fridays. There's people that actually want to c Gary Indiana grow.

You are constantly being asked to report crimes yet the people in dispatch will not have answer the phone that house is not in order

I was shot in the chest..well lets say i was set up by my perp. I ran into hinm getting gas. He said he wanted to give me something. He said my name to get me to look at him, but luckily i seen the gun before he could get a death shot and floored my vehicle. I almost died from the gun shot to the chest lost five pints of blood leave my body. They flew me to advocate christ for 10 days, half of that wasinduced comma. My left lung is permanantly injured, and missed my heart by 2 cm. I will never get full function of my left arm and shoulder. Please tell me why i pointed him out in a lineup 7 days ago. Where is the justice in this town. I mean i know where he is at, what if he kills again... does gary accept that, cause i dont and im sure the media wont.

I fortunately, have not been inside this facility, so i cant really speak on the rudeness or politeness of officers or staff...but what I can speak on is whenever I have called officers..they have responded quickly, I remember when someone tried to break in my old apartment, they really took time to help me.. even helped me fix my bars on the window! Then in my now current residence, they come quickly, are very nice, polite and empathetic of my issues..always gives helpful suggestions.. I appreciate them all- men and women officers...Policing in this God forsaken city can not be easy, don't think they are paid enough for what they are expected to..

I have been trying to get in touch with the auto theft department since yesterday I have called them a dozen times left multiple voicemails but no one has reached out to me. I am frustrated as I live in New Jersey but no one is answering the phone.
