Genesis Counseling Center

This was going to be my first visit virtual visit. I could see her but not hear her, all I could hear was barely audible so we changed to a phone call. She was very nice. Not sure why I couldn't hear her, some type of technical issue I guess or operater myself. We are going to try again and we'll see. I was going to cancel before the first visit because I feel that I should be strong enough with God on my side but I have a few things maybe I need to talk about. So giving it another try. I'd rather be live and in person but this is how they do this. I like to look someone in the eyes when I speak to them and watch their expressions. It helps to connect.

I have been going to Genesis Counseling for several years now. This place has been a God send. I was very broken when starting and he use Karis to really help me and point me back to Jesus. Also she listens and gives great advice and help. I highly recommend this place. They have always been so friendly and helpful and loving. I recommend this place highly

My counselor is amazing! She maintains a perfect balance between listening and gently moving me forward by reframing, reflecting, and asking insightful questions. I can get "lost" in my thinking and I know she will be able to provide guidance, strategies, and inclusion of faith practices so I can heal and remain healthy. So thankful!!

I had a session with John Lowry to which I feel was a mediocre at best. The meeting was held virtually and I can tell he was a bit distracted as through the call he would turn his head to whomever was in the background. He had very little guidance as he stated "I don't know" often. This is unacceptable because I'm paying you to be the expert. I would not recommend.

Staff is super courteous and punctual. Wait times for appts initial scheduling as a new patient and wait times once checking in are fabulous and very reasonable.

I have posted a review before and got a follow up response but could not respond to what was said, so in my first review I stated that the process is unorganized, difficult and timely. I have called for my results of my child’s testing exam and always get a “we will have someone get back with you”, we’ll that call never comes. I also received a no show fee for not coming in a blizzard I called a head of time, which has been obviously some time now. The response to my other concern about not properly identifying what the appointment is for in the confirmation phone calls or texts, answer: was due to hippa, however any other doctors, dentist or specialist office has identified simple appointment details for reminders. I really hope people are taken serious in the future and your time isn’t wasted like mine and my family’s.

I received a very unprofessional call. The lady called me for my address and hung up, without any explanation. In addition, my 7 years old daughter is not allowed to receive services in this place because I forgot about her appointment, in which I did not receive a short term reminder. I called to reschedule and the answer was that she is not allowed in this place ever again. For a counseling center that is supposedly God centered, this type of attitude does not represent the compassion, mercy, understanding, and the love of God at all. It was very disappointing and shocking to have received an answer of rejection towards a little girl who needed testing due to her special needs. Also, the experience with the psychologist was not very pleasant either. I had high hopes from this place, instead, I ended up with a VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE!!!

The folks at Genesis Counseling were super awesome. Krista is such an amazing counselor! She works with me and is very understanding on my circumstances, albeit therapy related or not. She is very caring and a great listener! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a new therapist group.

We waited 7 months for an appointment for psychological testing while my 12 year old son struggled with suicidal thoughts and self harm. Not sure what is going on in this country. Why are we so short staffed?

So blessed to have Laura Hermiz w/Genesis- walk through the hardest time in my life. The faith based guidance has literally saved my life.
