Direct Performance Physical Therapy

I had written off physical therapy after my experience with military & VA for shoulder injuries. Waste of time, no improvement with pain or range of motion. Fast forward a few years, I am ready for shoulder surgery. My orthopedic surgeon asked me to try physical therapy before scoping (eye roll), so I google Direct Performance. Hand to God, Dr Jake McCrowell is a miracle worker. My shoulders haven’t felt this good since 2008. I had no idea how much it was affecting my quality of life. Thank you Dr Jake!! About 2 months after my last review I tore my ACL in a Jiu Jitsu competition. Fast forward six months and I am already back to training. Dr. Jake McCrowell & Dr. Amanda Davidson worked their therapy magic and now I am more physically sound than before my injury. They also managed to keep the grueling sessions fun. The staff at Direct Performance are incredibly knowledgeable, and genuinely want to to see your health, mobility, and strength improve. I️ saw Jake and Amanda for my lower back pain, and feel incredible and pain-free after the completion of my sessions.

Worked with Dr. Jake McCrowell! Very knowledgeable, and he was able to find issues I didn't even know I had. He even taught me routines to do at home to aid in recovery. Highly recommended for anyone, especially athletes!

Monique Therrien Burghart Today at 4:49pm I walked into this office limping pretty badly. Hurted my lt. knee running and it was a recurring issue for over 3 yrs. I had seen other P.T.'s at other physical therapy offices and was told I could never run again and to simply do minimal workout at a gym. I recooperated just to have the knee issue back. Saw my orthopaedist again and surgery was eminent although i truly believed in physical therapy if you listen carefully to all the instructions and give it TIME. So one of my clients referred Stephen at Direct Performance and I gave it a try. WOW......this doctor is super knowledgeable. More I saw him, more my limp went away and I could continue all sports I enjoyed. Once again, surgery was not the route I would pursue. Although I do have an issue that will require a simple tweek on my part since Dr. Stephen instructed to do so, I have my life back. I am 60 yrs old and refuse to be down like a lame horse. There is so much living to do. Peak Performance got me back feeling awesome with no pain. I know I'm going to keep this business card forever.

Looks like I won't need knee surgery thanks to Jake McCrowell, DPT @Direct Performance Physical Therapy in Virginia Beach! Jake helped me change the way I walk, run, sit, stand and squat and I'm pain free. Ran a 5k a couple weeks ago with no problem. Also relaxed a leg muscle that's been cramped for years. Jake is professional yet light hearted. Wish I'd gone to him before the scary surgeon. I'm hiking the Smokies next month as planned.
