Governor's Mansion

Lovely old home and grounds, beautifully maintained, with tasteful renovations. Though absent from the property during our stay, the owner was available by phone, responsive, and very pleasant. The bed was cozy, the towels luxurious, and the breakfast (comped at a diner down the street) delicious and friendly. The decor and books in our room was a little odd -- religious in a way that made me uncomfortable -- but the rest of the house seemed more neutral, and I would love to stay in the house again, perhaps in another room.

Building was beautiful and well maintained. The rooms are all very different. The one we stayed in specifically was nice but small, and oddly decorated with religious objects that were a little disturbing. Hostess was absent so we never met her but phone conversations with her were very pleasant and helpful.

Well worth the price. Beautiful home and for the decorations, size and price would always pick it over a hotel.
