Gralehaus

Love brunch at Gralehaus. The grits are phenomenal and the biscuit with duck gravy is out of this world. Don't be fooled by what looks like small portions. You will leave full of really good food. Get there early so you don't have to wait for someone else to get up. It's order at the counter service. So it's best to know what you want when you get there and to order everything you want at once. The line can get really long.

This was an amazing place that we happened upon while driving through Louisville. Their building is gorgeous. The staff are all exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. The food and espresso was out of this world! It was great to get a taste of some local Kentucky ingredients.

I cannot say enough nice things about this spot. I got off the plane and was pretty hungry. My brother picked me up and we went straight here. The folks that run the space are genuine and helpful. I wanted to try pretty much everything they offered. They have a beautiful back patio area, although I really enjoyed watching them make food and drinks for folks up at their bar seating. The music was on point. The atmosphere is that of your dreamiest coffee/breakfast convergence. I have worked in coffee and really respected the considerations made around each beverage. I wish I had one of these where I live. I might even go back to Louisville just for this spot. Go here now!

I'm a bit torn about my 3 star review. I really wanted to give this place a 5 stars, but the service I experienced was lack luster to say the least. The food was good, but not what I expected from the reviews and from the premium price for a sandwich. The best part of my experience was the actual restaurant. It's a gorgeous set-up. All of the employees seemed really tired and disconnected and that made eating there kind of awkward. Maybe they were just all having an off day? All said my food was pretty good and my girlfriend's food was yummy. I wouldn't necessarily go back though.

A great place to stay if you are visiting Louisville. We stayed in the "Bed & and Beverage" upstairs, Room 1 "The Den," which is a beautiful space. Spacious bed and sleek shower, the room is clean and comfortable. The brunch is also well done. There is a wonderful patio in the back, shared with Gralehaus's sister establishment Holy Grale. If you want a home base from which to explore Louisville, it's hard to beat the Gralehaus. It's located in The Highlands, an area filled with scores of restaurants, bars, and pubs. If you don't mind walking, Downtown Louisville is about an hour's walk. If voluntary exercise isn't your thing, it's just a short drive away.
