Great Maine Breakfast

Always delicious! Great gluten free options. We go multiple times during our stay in Bar Harbor.

My girlfriend and I went here for breakfast because they have gluten free pancakes. We both had the lumberjack, which was two eggs, any style, potatoes, two pancakes (we upped to blueberry), and two bacon strips. The coffee was pretty weak and tasteless. They also didn't have fresh half and half, only those small plastic containers, same with butter, and no brown or raw sugar. Also, no hot syrup and it didn't taste like anything fresh and local. The blueberry pancakes were good and all of our food came out hot. Potatoes were nothing special, and neither were the eggs. Our bill for that and the coffee was almost $50 with tip (thanks to an extra $9 for gluten free pancakes for one, and the upgrade to blueberry). We pay the same price for an absolutely fantastic breakfast at two different places in the heart of New York City, so we weren't too thrilled with the meal for the price. Overall, not too impressed by this place and would have given it three stars except gave it four because of the gluten free options.

Small tight space, okay breakfast. Not bad, nothing special.

Great Maine has great food! They've got a whole vegan menu, tofu scramble burritos and pancakes!! the only downside is how busy it gets. There's always a line in the morning to get breakfast which is a bummer. Bathrooms are clean, staff is friendly, once seated service is prompt.
