Hunter Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

I would not have even given this "facility " even one star. There should be some kind of major minus star for this place . There may or may not be a very dear person that has always been in my heart for more than 40 years and this has absolutely no reflection on her. The people in the offices make you believe your loved one will get the best care, when in fact they have no idea what happens after you allow your family member to enter this place. If you have a loved one in this place and believe the "caregiver " will do their job as they are supposed to you sadly are mistaken . My request to the staff was to keep her clean , hydrated and fed. I know in my heart and no one will ever be able to prove otherwise that my family member was not fed i.e.: starved to death. She was not able to feed herself and I believe that if and I mean if they took food in her room they left it. And I never once saw any signs of a tray of food. They did not attempt to feed her. So it breaks my heart to say that the last thing she said to me was she needed something to eat. The last thing she said. I received a phone call telling me she had passed and I was beyond devastated. When I arrived at the facility they hadn't even cut the television off !!! She never even watched tv in there. They never turned her to help prevent the break down of her skin. Never. Also when I got there after the devastating call it almost looked like she could possibly been smothered. I can not say enough to let you know what we experienced and if I had the strength to take care of her myself I would have. I pray no one ever feels the pain that this has caused me, unfortunately there are not a lot of places that offer a room when it is needed. These employees don't make a lot of money but for Gods sake find a job you don't like other than where you cause death. No proof but I know she didn't eat anything while she was there. They did not feed her. And didn't want her to have any water. And save yourself the trouble of explaining aspiration I know all about that. Writing this because I'm angry and lost and very sad.

They don't have enough staff and the attention to detail is very lacking. My experience is with the rehab section. If you are young and otherwise healthy and just recovering from a broken bone or minor surgery you'd be ok I guess. But if you need a lot of assistance you do not want to go here. The doctor saw my relative was dehydrated and malnourished and did nothing about it. When the call button is pressed it may take anywhere from 15 mins to 45mins before someone comes. We had to firmly request 911 be called and our loved one transported to ER. Not a good experience.
