Signature HealthCARE of Chapel Hill

My mother been with Signature Health for 10 plus years, but since 2017 they have really done some upgrading and the nursing staff their are awesome. Our new Director is very friendly and the patient love her. I would recommend Signature Health.

I've seen some pretty terrible things. One of the attendance parked an elderly woman in a corner in the hallway and left her by herself. The woman was screaming her name and I kept telling that she was out there calling her but they kept waving me off saying go away it's ok. Just in the office laughing and eating. I said hey it's making me want to cry hearing her like that they said no go away she will be alright.

My relative has been there over a year and the care is inconsistent. They are chronically understaffed and it is difficult to get an accurate answer out of anyone. I am a medical professional so I know a lot about what's going on (often more than they do) If you need assistance to go to the bath room your call light can ring forever especially if it is close to change of shift. When you complain higher up, they just look at you and nod and say that they'll take care of it but it takes several times of mentioning it to get any action. Often they don't remember when you talk to them the first time. The rooms are never cleaned thoroughly most they clean the middle of the room. Staff will walk over a piece of trash on the floor rather than picking it up. The place is a joke; but not better or worse than other Nursing Homes. Oh and the food is terrible too. We are out of options so we just continue to cope and try to advocate for our relative. I waited over a year to post this, thinking it might improve but that's not happening at this facility.

If I could give this place a negative star review I would! Do not take the chance with this place! They sent my sister to the hospital for a psych evaluation for no reason (even the nurse and cna didn't understand), then while there they told her she couldn't come back (legally they have to give her a 30 day notice) and then when we showed up the next day they had packed all her belongings and put it in the hallway (also illegal), when the administrator was confronted she panicked and said nothing. The state and ombudsman have been called. Until this place is under new management or something- don't even give it the time of day!

Awful facilities. Urine smell strong as soon as you walk in and all through the building. Staff extremely rude. And when my mother was discharged to go home...they listed her as dead with social security and medicare.
