Idaho State Veterans Home Boise

The staff here is very friendly and the volunteers are extremely active in this community.

The most dedicated and caring staff anywhere! I would have my family in the vets home in a heart beat. The facility is clean, well kept. The food is excellent for the volume and complex diets of some residents. Amazing social work program, credit to Oni and the entire team. The activities department is dog crap though. With the amount of full time staff dedicated to activities, there is MAJOR room for improvement.

Not a bad place, lives under the shadow of the federal side of the Hospital. However, after nearly 2 years here Some things bug me. I pay 1375.00 to live here with little privet time unless I take off for the day, it a safe place to live. Give me my med set back, I do not like living hostage via med time 4 times a day! I have no controlled meds. So just put them in a med set and this time I will not drop it on my floor. Hope Kentucky veterans centers are at least held to the Boise vet home. From a scale of 1 to 10 ten being best 7.5. great social workers who truly want to help. Most staff I get along with but there is always the few that don't much care for their job. The new administrator Randell Barns is a real P.R. type of person that is a must with his type of employment. Remember Veterans are not the easiest people to work for because some can be so damn demanding. Most likely will be moving back to Kentucky in late march 2015. Wilmont just south of Lexington.
