For Pure Veggies from India, this is the BEST place to dine-in in Sunnyvale. First the ambience and the taste is purely feels like seating in a restaurant in India, literally. The menu are very precisely not many items but each items are just mouth watering. Yes, I am a hard core Non Veg and I have thoroughly enjoyed a Lunch here. They have good capacity seating but have some waiting time in hand as its a very popular food Destination. They have very loyal customer base. Parking capacity is decent. The washroom are very spacious and maintained well.
Everything you need to know: Their chutney is bland and watery. Then, everything is bland, the chaat basket, the paani Poori definitely don't order it as the paani = unflavored water, and saanodna vada is tasteless. The saag paneer and tadka dal were good. The bhindi was overripe and hence fibrous something they would know while cutting it - see the photo - and not eatable. The aloo paratha was good, the accompanying raita was bland and watery see photo. The service is slow and you have to get their attention, but this is ok as it is perhaps the pandemic. We sadly do jot recommend you going to Chaat Bhavan.
Love coming here for lunch! I always make sure to get the Chaat Baskets, they are delicious! Everything I've tried has been amazing! Full of rich flavors.Food: 5/5
Delicious Indian food. Loved their garlic naan, methi poorji bhaji, chai and Mango lassi. The chilli paneer and chinese bhel were okayish. My friends enjoyed the kadhi chawal too. The service was good too. Will love to try more dishes.
Good place for vegetarians. Have lot of options and everything tastes good. This is one restaurant where I can pick anything that I want to eat without thinking too much.
Tried their this location for the first time , we mostly go to the Dublin one …. Quality is the same …. Friendly cheerful staff and great ambiance, the place is very clean including their restrooms, haven’t seen any other restaurant’s restrooms as clean as theirs in the Bay Area ….. food was great as always , Paneer tikka sizzler was yummy but it should come with some rice or the bread their cholley are always undercooked , don’t know why…. Chaat Bhavan has feel good vibes always So won’t stop me to go back over and over
I was in love with the place, given how spacious it was for a cozy gathering with friends. Interiors were calming and pleasant on a hot summer afternoon. To get a good parking, we reached around the time they open. I specifically chose this restaurant since it offers a pure vegetarian cuisine. I personally feel that should be encouraged. Coming to food - I'd recommend the following: Starters: Samosa and Chai along with Dahi Papdi Chaat and Chaas absolutely loved them Main Course: 1. Achari Gobhi Paratha - Amazing taste, perfectly cooked and served with spiced up curd, onion slices and mixed pickle. 2. Chole Bhature - Bhature were soft and crunchy at the same time, hence very delicious. Although I felt like the chole needed to be soaked a little more for enhanced size and some more spices would have been great. 3. Amritsari Kulcha - This is another delight with potato filling, also served with Chole. 4. Methi Puri and Sabji - Large puffed up puris served with boiled potato dry sabji. The price didn't seem justified to me since you pay for just 2 puris smaller than a Bhatura. It's easier to make this at home. Taste wise, awesome. Desserts: 1. Choco Lava Cake: What a wonderful hot cake topped with vanilla icecream scoop and beautifully presented !! The cake contains egg and the waiter was kind enough to inform us beforehand. 2. Moong Dal Halwa: Must try!! I thoroughly enjoyed every bite of it. 3. Lassi: It was fulfilling but too sweet for my liking. Go for it if you don't prefer the previous two.
This is our go-to Indian place for vegetarian food. All pandemic we ordered or picked up food from here. Although there are tons of Indian restaurants on El Camino, this one stands out with superior food - on taste and freshness. We love many dishes namely - Chole bhature, makki ki roti-sarso ka saag, wada paav, parathas and thali. Thali has sensible portions that won’t put you in food coma. Staff is very welcoming and wonderful staff member Pankaj accommodated my food allergies. Overall a great place to dine in! Update: I reviewed this restaurant a month back giving out 5 stars. But based on today’s experience, I want to take off some stars. This is about the customer service which is really inconsistent. I am allergic to dairy and wanted to replace a dairy item from my house thali, last few times it was honored by a kind employee of the restaurant but today other servers refused even though this wouldn’t have impacted their business in any way, the restaurant was full. Indian restaurants doesn’t take allergy concerns seriously. I was ordering food from here for years, seems they wouldn’t be getting my business any more!!!
I got a chaat combo here at dinner time which was pretty great. Chaat combo is for $14.99 and comes with 2 chaat dishes, papad and a free drink. I took sev dahi batata puri and pani puri. I took chaas as a free drink. It was great. Value for money. I went during peak hours and was not happy with the parking situation. It was congested and people coming for pick up orders were parking randomly. We had to wait 10 minutes to get a way out. Another thing we observed was that the waiters did not coordinate. We gave an order and then another guy came and asked if the order was ready. They can avoid this by assigning a person to a table. But, I love their chaat. Their dabeli is not at all a dabeli so do not buy it. Their paneer wraps are also not great. They put veggies in there that are not thoroughly cooked.
We've been here so many times and as always this place is very popular, so many people when other places are almost empty. From that you will know food here is good. We always get the hara bara bhel, a thali, Chai tea and paneer Tikka. I just wish they change the cloth table cover. Ours still has a stain from the previous eaters. Parking can also be a problem during peak hours.
