Jackson Soul Food

This place was really good. We wanted some soul food while visiting Miami and I looked this place up and went and were not disappointed. The only thing was the peach cobbler, my guest liked it but I did not. Compared to prices in Seattle, this was very cheap. I got the catfish meal with greens, stuffin, Mac and cheese, rice and pigeon peas and mash and gravy and cornbread. I got and extra side of greens to take back to the hotel and only spent $20. I love Miami, definitely going back when in town.

I gave one star cause the food was awesome but the service was terrible and ruined the experience. Myself and my family went to this restaurant at the recommendation of a friend. We are from out of town and arrived at noon on Sunday 5/27/18. We were a party of six so they had to arrange some tables for us no problem. We all got seated and at about 12:30 placed our orders. The restaurant began to fill and we never again saw our server at our table. We did see her serve others though. At 1:15 we inquired to the hostess about our food “she went to check on it” never returned. Finally at 1:30 I went to the counter to again check on the status of our food and finally the waitress came out with one of our orders good right well he was only one to have food for about 20 minutes no other food came out. By now we were all frustrated as we watched people that came in after us enjoying there food and asked to speak to a manager. Our server was “nice”enough to explain hat dinner took a little longer than breakfast so that was why we had to wait, she was at a loss when we pointed out all the people around our table that could be observed enjoying dinner many that came in after us. Again asked to speak to a manager, they went to go see “if they could find one”. Finally our food came out at 1:45 and yes it was good but not worth 2 hours of our life and vacation. The hostess explained that our tickets probably got mixed up, to which I pointed out had the waitress checked on us throughout the dining experience she would have realized that we had not been served, her response was well ma’am what would you like me to do, I again asked for a manager. I guess no one could ever find one since no one came to address the concern.

WOW!!! The food was AMAZING!!! Makes you feel like eating at your grandma's house. No pictures, to busy eating EVERYTHING! The staff was friendly, funny (hostess Ms Nina) , courteous and professional. Will definitely be going back. Nothing like good Home Cooking.

The food is great and I don't have any issues. The service was awesome and friendly. This is my experience when I am there. I like home cook food, for I don't get any kind of this food at Brickell. So I go to what I know and my money goes back to the community. Stay bless

Worst customer service ever. Dirty plates and tables everywhere. Had to clear our own table off and then sat there for 20 minutes. No one came by. I got up to get a server twice yet no one came over. We eventually left to go to a different restaurant. Sadly this place was recommended to us. We will not be back.
