I grew up in Omaha and was back this weekend for the Berkshire Hathaway meeting. I had never been to Joe Tess although I lived in Omaha for 15 years. Saw it on Diners Drive-ins and Dives. Decided we needed to try it. We have fish every Friday night, year round, in Wisconsin - the home of supper clubs and fish fries. We are not strangers to fried fish and supper club decor. However, the meal was very disappointing. The potato jackets were soggy and cold. The salmon was dry. The bread was stingy. Pickles were under the fish, soaked into the bread, giving it a vinegar pickle soggy flavor. The tap beer selection was meager. The black plastic fish shaped plates were from another era - the pink ones on other tables were at least interesting. To their credit we had a nice waitress. The beer by the pitcher was affordable. The catfish was crispy but a lot too fishy tasting. Had to ask twice for lemon. We were never offered dessert, coffee, etc. Just handed the bill the minute we finished our fish. It was only about 1/2 full so I don't think they needed to get us out of there for the next diners. The atmosphere is quaint and the acoustics are better than most restaurants - carpet and acoustic tiles make it quiet. Glad I went but once is enough.

Good food. I have been enjoying the fried fish entrees here for years. They also feature broiled fish and chicken. Tasty meals and a lot of food for the money. Great service. Menu not for all tastes. But we love it

Charges a gratuity charge for a party of 6. I have a family of six including myself. No family dinners here. Food was ok. My fish was soft fried. Not worth the 72$ price for all of us to eat.

So is absolutely yummy and the waitress and the service was outstanding very pleasant atmosphere good family atmosphere also I would go there again
