I really like Kelly personal training. My trainer works with me once per week and in 30 minutes I am completely spent. I've been amazed at the progress I have made. I have really increased my strength over the last 10 weeks. These guys know what they are doing and they actually help you. I needed to increase my leg strength for the bike rides that I'm doing this spring and it is helped immensely. I highly recommend them.

I want to give Kelly Personal Training a big kudos! I will turn 76 years old in just a few weeks. Since the age of 42, I have been a runner. Starting when I was 67 years old, I was able to run an annual marathon for six years in a row. I had not tried a marathon since but I had kept on running. In the 2016 running season I was able to run a one half marathon and a 10 miler, finishing first in my age group in each run. Of course, I was the only one in my age group in both races. About four months ago I started experiencing knee pain and eventually had to stop running because of the pain. I went to see an orthopedist and he told me that my running days were over and that I would have to take up something else for exercise.
While running I always listen to the radio. Frequently I would hear ads by Kelly Personal Training extolling the virtues of its training programs. The claims of the ads seemed exaggerated and I did not give them serious consideration.. But, after being laid up from running for a couple months I decided to give Kelly Personal Training a try. I have done their training exercises once a week for the last six weeks. At first, I didn’t think I was going to have a positive outcome because the training exercises only took a half hour and I didn’t see how they were going to help me. But after the third training session I began to notice a difference. I just completed my 6th one this past Thursday. Yesterday, Monday, I felt well enough and thought I would give a run a try. I have a five mile route that I had run regularly which contains some pretty tough hills throughout. I ran that route and experienced only a slight discomfort in my knee. I was about 2 ½ minutes slower per mile than what I had been able to run previously. Today, Tuesday, I ran the route again and was able to do it just 50 seconds per mile slower than I had been able to run previously. I had no discomfort. The future for my running is looking bright.
Kelly Personal Training has proved my orthopedist wrong - I am able to run again with almost no discomfort in my knee. I intend to keep at it.
I have only one regret. I am moving next week and will not be able to continue my workouts at Kelly Personal Training. They will be too far away from where I will be living. But, I am very thankful that they have enabled me to run again.

John Kelly not only knows how to motivate and push you to maximize your workouts, he is extremely knowledgeable about the science behind the high intensity routines. And he does it in a fun and engaging way.
I've lost 60 lbs since May '14 and I credit his sound advice and workouts for it!

I've been working out with Amy at Kelly Personal Training in Austin for about 4.5 months. This has been the most awesome experience. I'm in my mid 40's and had decided that the extra pounds were just what happens at this age. I tried cardio, curves, etc to no avail. Then I decided to try this. You get the first two free so what's the worst that could happen. I could decide it wasn't for me, right. Well after the first workout I told my husband I wanted to give it a fair chance - 2 months - 8 weeks. I only had to pay for 6 and I felt that I would see something by then or know it wasn't working for me. Well, after two weeks I had more energy, felt better (more in charge again). Within five weeks people at work were asking what I was doing. And by 2.5 months my clothes were getting loser. Now 4.5 months later I've dropped 2 sizes and several coworkers are seeing Amy and seeing results as well. I can't say enough about Amy or this exercise program.
If you're intimidated by the idea of a personal trainer please don't be. Everyone at Kelly Personal Training are real, normal, down to earth people. No judgement, no pressure. I've never felt comfortable in gyms. I totally love this place and the people. (Thank you Amy for helping me get my confidence back. Love you!!!)

Wider selection of equipment than an apartment gym but not quite as good as a 24 hour fitness or gold's gym. Might have a wider selection of equipment than Anytime Fitnesses typically do - that's harder to say.
That said some of the equipment they have is kinda unique. They have a neck exercise machine, which I've never seen anywhere else and they have a weird stretching machine that I've never seen anywhere else.
All the equipment is packed really close together too. And you're probably not going to be doing any free weight or body weight exercises here, save for maybe planks. I guess the idea behind that is that it's harder to hurt yourself on machines than it is with body weight / free weight exercises. There isn't any cardio either but that's by design too. The idea, I guess, being muscle burns calories faster than non-muscle and so they focus on muscle growth.
For me, personally, I didn't find the gym to be in-line with my fitness goals (I'm more into free weight / body weight stuff) but for people wanting to lose weight or gain weight I'd recommend it!
