King Ludwig's Restaurant

We had not been here for years but remembered it fondly. So sad that it now does not appear to be doing well. The food was very sub par. Not very good and the interior had the beautiful wood but it all needed a good scrubbing and polish! "sticky" every where, (areas needing maintenance evident thru out). Service was good but the quality of food needs an overhaul. Hope they can get back on track!

We came in because a lot of the other restaurants were packed. We were starving and didn't think to search for reviews. Ordered the goulash. It was $18 and pretty flavorless. Clearly made with stewing beef. Upsetting since I could make the same for a fraction of what they are charging. Giving it two stars because my boyfriend's Jager Schnitzel was edible. However, worth mentioning. We ate at Bravarian Bistro the following day and theirs was the same price but better flavor. So while King Ludwig's is edible, certainly not worth your money in my opinion.

Excellent German fare. Ham hocks we're fabulous. One serving feeds almost 3. Two varieties of sauerkraut. Sausages were good. Red potatoes and spaetzel we're very good. Enjoy.

Excellent German-style food and imported beers identical to the real thing in Bavaria. Great way to complement the German experience at Leavenworth.

I would not recommend this restaurant. We arrived Leavenworth in the noon time and most of other restaurants were full with long wait line, we are very hungry so decided to pick up this one since there is no wait line and very few people inside. However after the lunch I start to understand why it has no wait line. We ordered 4 sets lunch and wait half an hour to get 3 of them, and then I keep on waiting the final one but it didn't come. After 1 hour the waitress just gave me the bill which included 4 meals, I stopped her and say "hey where is the fourth one? I saw it on the bill but never get it". then she said Oh ok let me work on it. After 10 min I got the last one. It's obviously she forgot to inform the kitchen about my meal but she didn't say any words of "apologize" or "sorry". Furthermore, the food were not tasty, it's below average level of those German restaurant I tried before. So if you decide to drive few hours to Leavenworth to enjoy the German food, make sure you choose a right restaurant.
