This restaurant had a wonderful location and atmosphere and the food was incredible! Quaint with character and the live blues music was perfect. My son has anxiety when there is a lot of activity but he found the blues music calming and was able to eat his dinner. All four members of our party thought the food was outstanding. We would definitely return.

Great gumbo!! The BBQ plate was pretty darn good also. Service was a tad slow getting started but once she found us, she was very conscientious. All the sweet tea and lemonade refills you could ask for and, of course, live music. 😊

One star is actually a generous offer for a restaurant as unprofessional and mismanaged as the King’s Palace. My wife and I have a dined here maybe three times and we have tried to be patient with the obviously overwhelmed staff but each time there has been an issue. This past Friday we were seated and forced to wait 15-20 minutes for someone to even take our drink orders and this was not the worst part. Our waitress actually charged me twice for my meal and said nothing, she only brought back ONE receipt to my table on which I wrote a tip and I now regret having done that. I only noticed when I checked my account the next morning that there were two charges and immediately called the King’s Palace to alert a manager. I was dismissed using the upcoming holiday (Memorial Day) and subsequent bank closures as an excuse. I then physically came back to the King’s Palace later that day to speak in person with the “manager” that I had spoken to over the phone and not only was I avoided but also dismissed on her behalf via another “manager”. I waited for this supposedly problematic holiday to pass before returning to the King’s Palace to receive my refund and upon arrival I was treated with hostility and suspicion from various staff members since the “manager” that I spoke to initially was now avoiding speaking to me directly. I was forced to call the corporate office while waiting and this did not seem to make much of a difference in the service I am receiving regarding this matter. DO NOT spend your money here, DO NOT bring your family and friends here, and if you must dine here for whatever reason, it would be wise to use cash only.

Ate lunch there today. The food was fantastic. The service was the best I’ve experienced. The Gumbo was as advertised. Amazing. Possibly the best I’ve ever eaten. The next time I’m here in Memphis....I’ll be eating here! Steak so good...you don’t even need sour cream. That’s a thing. Look it up

When I arrived I stood waiting to be seated for about 7 minutes. I was just about to turn around and leave when someone came from outside and sat us.  But other than that I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. A live band played which was cool if you were into that. The food was good and the service was above average.
