Krab Kettle

Out of the small hole-in-the-wall places serving Clam Chowder in Newport and Florence. This is my favorite place. Clam chowder: Not as creamy as other chowders. Really large clam pieces. The classic New England chowder flavor doesn't dry out my throat. It makes me want to keep digging in. A bowl is a great snack to keep warm in the winter. Would get again. Regularly get it when I swing by the town. Smoked Salmon jerky stick: $2.50/stick. Very satisfying snack of ground salmon in the shape of a jerky stick. The flavor profile has the smokey flavors gently hitting first and then the sweet salmon flavors rounding it off, leaving with a pleasant mix lingering on the palate. Would get again. Have bought it several times. Smoked Rock fish jerky: Very impressed with the rock fish flavors coming out to shine. I found the jerky satisfying my craving for a salty snack for the road. Smoked Salmon (Chinook?): Tasted very different than the Smoked Salmon jerky stick. The smoke flavors had completed penetrated the slab of salmon. The smoked salmon tasted more sweet than the jerky stick. Would get again.

Very nice folks working here, best price on crabs I can find. A for sure stop.

Always go to this place for chowder when in town, but the lady that works there is off putting with her attitude and shortness. Looking for a different place for chowder.
