A nice little find. Very eclectic menu obviously focused on fresh ingredients from the sea. Friendly fast service, pleasant ambiance and it's fun to watch the going on in the open kitchen. On warm days you'll find the roll up doors providing fresh aor. Nice selection of beer and wine. Definitely would be back!

Local Ocean is definitely a family favorite of ours. We tend to go for celebrations, and the food is always delicious. We have yet to have a disappointing experience whether it's with the food or service. The food is made with fresh sea fare, and offers fantastic options ranging from soup, salad, sandwiches, and small/big plate meals. In addition the staff of Local ocean are friendly and helpful with questions that you may have.

Quick service, well plated food. I had the Halibut with a side of the fennel slaw. I'm glad I ordered the side as the main course was woefully lacking in vegetables. The grilled halibut was served over a dish of linguine, smoked salmon, and some cream sauce. It would definitely service the American requirements of salt and fat. On its own the halibut was delicious. I would have preferred it by itself with some sides of crunchy vegetables. As served it was just too much to really enjoy the individual components.

Everything you wish for when you come to the coast for the freshest local food. Everything was splendid! The bloody Maria was fantastic home made tomato juice, house pickled fixings with delicious bacon and juicy fresh shrimp. Best seafood we have at in Newport in a decade. Make sure to try the fish wives soup very filling and also the crab Po boy was fantastic. Service is also killer and quick! Restaurant was very clean and inviting.

We stopped in for lunch. Food was great, everything was obviously very fresh and was well prepared. They also had a large selection of seafood for sale. Prices were a little high, but the fishing fleet is across the street. Bright open atmosphere. Worth it.
