I ended up at this location after being turned away at both a Newark and Bayonne location. At Newark, they locked the doors early before closing time. At Bayonne, they stopped accepting walk-ins "after a certain time." Here, not only were they open later as opposed to 11am and 12pm to better accommodate people who work full-time M-F, but they saw me very quickly. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. Also, the person who drew the blood was nice and the other person who greeted me was friendly and tended to me right away. The Newark and Bayonne locations could learn a lot from this location. Just a shame they aren't closer to me. I'm done dealing with labcorp directly after today, but at least happy that I ended up in good hands by the end.
The lab corp receptionist on the morning of 2/26/22 is very good. Even with the fire alarm test going off, she remained calm and patient, helping call my doctor to clarify my test. Please reward her.
I did routine blood work today at this location. I cannot say how thankful I was with my experience. I am usually very anxious before this procedure to the point that I make myself feel sick. I was lucky to have Marnita draw my blood. She was a blessing; very sweet and understanding of my nerves. She is a candid and professional Phlebotomist. She was not only empathetic but an expert in the way she inserted and removed the needle from my arm minimal pain. She talked to me through the process. I absolutely loved her. Even though work ethic and behavior such as hers is to be expected from everyone in the healthcare system, sadly it isn’t the case. Hence, her professionalism is exemplary. I highly recommend this location and Marnita for your phlebotomy needs.
The staff were nice and it went about as smooth as a visit to get blood drawn could go.
I went to this LabCorp location today to get my blood drawn. The people at the front desk were very polite. When I was called back by a technician to take my blood, he was not pleasant, he was rude. I saw him get what looked like a large needle from the cabinet, so I asked him if he could use a butterfly needle. He made a grunting sound, put the needle back, and left the room. He came back with a woman. She got what looked like the same needle. I asked if she could use a butterfly needle, and she said that they were out. I told her that I would go to another lab. She said, "No, no. This will be fine." I am petite and have small veins. I have never had to ask a tech to use a butterfly needle. Whoever draws my blood usually uses a small needle and I don't have problems with phlebotomists. It was very painful when she jammed the needle in my vein. She was moving it, and I told her not to move it, just take it straight out. She didn't take the needle out like I asked and it was extremely painful. So I said very loudly, "Get it out! Take it out of my arm! I was angry and speaking loudly. A young girl with a white lab coat comes in and tells me that I couldn't scream at the technician and that they do have butterfly needles, but they were only used on kids, and that LabCorp didn't give them enough butterfly needles to use on adults. She said, "If you have a problem with it, you can talk to LabCorp!" I was so upset, she began a verbal fight with me, smiling at me the more upset I became. Finally, two of her colleagues took her by her arms and escorted her away from me. I have never had an experience like the one I had today. When you are not well, and you are upset, the last thing you need is someone trying extra hard to make things more difficult for you. That was my first and my last time I will ever go to a LabCorp. Any LabCorp. And if a doctor's office draws my blood, I will tell them not to send it to LabCorp. I'm dumbfounded as to how that girl keeps her job there. Whatever that may be.
I was a walk in without an appointment. Unlike Quest, Labcorp has a separate staff for the paperwork and the actual blood draw. Everyone was courteous and friendly both to me and some older men who were having a hard time. The woman doing the blood draw was quick, professional, and I literally didn’t even feel the stick when she drew blood. If you have to choose between a longer travel to this place or a shorter travel to Quest 86th st for me save yourself time and aggravation and go to this LabCorp. It will be much faster overall and you will walk out happy.
I went to see a dr. At this location, he stated i needed surgery, and told me to go downstairs to draw bloodwork before surgery. So I went to this LabCorp, and was told I have a $50 outstanding balance and unless i pay it, i can not be seen. I'm on disability and on a low income so i do not have it, and guess can not have the surgery.
Worst experience ever. Very inexperienced staff to draw blood. Took 4 trys when all other people can always get it on first try. Gave me some poor excuse that I need to drink more water. Only reason I went there was because it was in same office as doctor. My arms were black and blue for over 1 month.
The staff is amazing, I had frustrating moment with the lab order but they was understanding and actually made me feel better and took me in. Thank you
Easy and efficient. It was very helpful to be able to go on a Sunday, but they could use extra staff on weekends, as it seems to be the only LabCorp open.
