Lake County Animal Shelter

We went there looking for a small dog and came home with a medium to large one they say the animals pick you well ozie t which we renamed him Buster it fits better. We got really lucky he is a great dog. The staff their are the best very friendly and caring they love the animals and take good care of them. Thank you

I am thankful that the shelter has dogs and cats for a reasonable price but I feel that some people aren’t honest. I got a puppy and called 6 days later because she stated to limb and was not doing anything or hurt herself in a way to cause this. I was told that once I take the pet it’s mine and they are not responsible. I called back to see if I can bring her to get checked or if they can tell me if she had any issues when checked. I was placed on a long hold and hung up because the person had a bad attitude and seemed to hide something. Be more honest about issues with animals and dont hide the truth.

Wonderful place and got my two boys from there.... They are so amazing. Easy adoption process when it came to felines. We actually got 2 kittens for 10 bucks (they were buy one,get one) we paid for the animal carriers too... That was another 20. Plus a few minor fees.... So basically... For under 50 bucks we got 2 cats that were microchipped, neutured and all kitten shots. Plus a couple of cardboard cat carriers to use in case of emergency. Just a fantastic experience but i do know they are a bit more extensive with dogs. (Pricing is still very low though) and if it doesn't work out, they take the animals back. (I heard a story about one cat that had to come back because he attacked the new owners poodle.)

No Kill shelter. Very easy to deal with on foster / adoption. Clean and friendly staff.

This is a great place to adopt a family pet or even a farm animal. They have dogs, cats, livestock, and sometimes rabbits. The facility is as clean as it can be and the employees are very helpful and friendly.
