Pet Rescue By Judy

I had applied for a kitten a few days before I found and read the reviews here, and started to get worried and having second thoughts. But the reply I received was very polite and professional. I was informed that the kitten I'd applied for had already had a pending application and had just been adopted, and asked if I'd like to switch my application to another. Since there had been two kittens that I'd had a hard time choosing between, this wasn't a problem for me. When I was finally able to visit the shelter to see the kitten, the staff were all extremely friendly. I was asked not once, but twice, if I needed any help. I got to pet and play with the kitten, and would have taken her home that day if not for being informed that they'd found a flea on her and had only given her the flea treatment the day before. We thought it was best to wait a few days to make sure any fleas had cleared up before taking her home. The day we went to get her, I filled out the paperwork, no problems. The lady who takes care of the cat area was super enthusiastic and it's obvious she loves all the cats there. She gave me a small bag full of cat treats and toys, and even offered a cat bed, but I'd already bought one on amazon. Still it was a very generous offer. I've now had my kitten for over a month, and she's doing great.

I highly recommend Pet Rescue By Judy! I had called several rescues and went to vet clinics and no one would help :( until I called Judy. She too said they were full but I explained that I had two tiny 3 week old sick kittens that were abandoned in my backyard by a feral mommy. I also explained that my husband has a rare blood disorder and simply cannot be exposed to cats. They IMMEDIATELY responded (like no-one else cared to do). I saw as I met the PRBJ team that they are indeed champions of animals needing homes and rescue. I also noted that Judy has a no nonsense, strong personality but sorry people, she def knows her stuff!

I am so happy with the way this organization handled the adoption process and their love of animals. They work hard to find great homes for all their animals and do it with allot of dedicated volunteers. From the time we selected our amazing little rescue to follow up questions I would recommend this rescue. We feel luck to have Bambi in our lives and she was well taken care of before we adopted her. Thank you.

I almost got fooled again today. Last year we were encouraged to fill out an application for a dog by Pet Rescue by Judy while at an event in Sanford. This organization does a good job of making you think you have a chance to get a dog, but fail to tell you that there are other applicants and by the way..,people that personally know Judy. We fell in love with a dog and then were told the dog would not be a good fit for our home (because the dog had already been promised to someone else). However, another dog is quick to be recommended as a better fit. So today we were at the same event from the previous year and again saw some sweet dogs. We were encouraged to put in an application over and over. However, we knew the game and asked about other applicants. We were told there were at least 2 already, but one of those was an instant rejection. Thankfully we remembered the previous experience and passed. This is not a fun place to deal with.

1st time participating in 🐕Dog For A Day..it was so much fun. We took June 🐕 out and she is truly sweet, well behaved, happy, and easy to get along with. We look forward to more play dates with other 🐕s.
