We stopped in Charleston on our way back to Chicago from Myrtle Beach S.C. We looked up places on line to eat and decided on Laury's. What a great surprise, we have dined in some of the finest Restaurants in Chicago, San Francisco, New York and let me say it was right there with all. Great food ,great service , beautiful ambiance. Drake our waiter was par excellance, with help from Betsy. Made us feel right at home in W.V.
If we ever get through Charleston again We would not miss it. A real Gem

Great atmosphere. Great service. Great food. Great dessert. Somewhat chilly inside, a thin long sleeve is not a bad idea. A little expensive but a worthy night out. Only thing I can really complain about is no Dr. Pepper. Haha

Early Valentine's dinner for busy parents of two. Restaurant is very nice, beautiful setting. We were greeted professionally, and seated promptly on time for our reservation. However, we sat at the table for 27 minutes before a server ever got to us to even offer us water or take our order. This is unacceptable, and is more than enough for the below average rating alone. Our server, once one picked us up, was good and apologetic, which we appreciated. The filet was good, but nothing to write home about. Overall, we felt like we were paying double the price to sit in an upscale eatery, and getting food and service you would expect at an outback or long horn steak house. So to each his own. And to the people who are so effected by, and worried about what other people wear going to dinner, get over yourselves.

Completely underwhelmed. My husband and I were excited to finally get to try this place and see what it was all about. We had a reservation at 7:30 but got there about 20 minutes early and were seated right away. Waiter after waiter walked by and said NOTHING for about 25 minutes. No drinks, no bread, and no service for 25 minutes. Finally a waitress noticed we were sitting there and stated that she didn't know who had our table but she was going to take us. The service was ok after that, but I felt like we were a burden. The food was delicious, and that's the only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one. I am highly disappointed in what is supposed to be one of Charleston's best restaurants. We won't be wasting our time here again.

Reservations are suggested, which we had. The staff were excellent, especially Drake who was spot on in his suggestion. We always ask a lot of questions of the staff when we eat out and he was great with his answers. :) The food was delicious. I started with the Shrimp scampi which was in a light garlic butter sauce and not drowned in it like some places do. I went with the suggestion of Salmon and crab and I was not disappointed. The Salmon had a really nice texture and kept it's flavor and the lump crab was rolled around an artichoke heart, which complimented each other. There was a light, and not overpowering sauce, to top it off. My side dish was a creamed spinach. If you like sweet wine, I suggest Ruffino Moscato D'Asti. I finished with the warm chocolate cake, with chocolate/caramel sauce and vanilla bean Ice cream, heavenly.
