Legal Sea Foods - Short Hills

There are two dishes that I usually order here - fresh cherrystone clams and the lobster roll. I haven't try other dishes. The lobster roll has a generous portion of lobster, perfectly seasoned and just enough crunch from the celery. Clams is always fresh, so sweet and so delicious. The atmosphere is alright, depending on when you are visiting and where you are seated. My last trip - even with reservation - they seated us right in front of of a very cold vent that blow constant cold air right at my face and throat. I came up and asked to be moved twice, the hosted said she would see to it but it was just empty promises, and I was disappointed.

I love this restaurant. I went with my family last weekend , the food was great. I order lobster. their lobster is huge and tasty but expensive. every one had a great time. good selection of food and dessert. the manger is so nice.

First time at a Legal Seafoods after several years. The drinks (sangria) were quite large and very good, but could have used a bit more fruit. We had the New England clam chowder as an app which was delicious, and very well priced. For the main I had the fish and chips, which wasn’t all that good. However the wife’s lobster bake (photo) made up for my dish. It was massive and the stuffing on top tasted great. Service was very good too, one of the perks being attached to a fancy mall. I’d go back but won’t order the fish and chips again.

I was a little disappointed with the quality and preparation of the food. I ordered steamed littleneck clams but many did not open and lots of shells were broken at the bottom of the container. Also, I really did not like the wings looked and tasted burnt. But the rolls were great!

Service was great. I normally don’t order fried food, but decided to on this occasion. I do not recommend ordering the fried fish, shrimp, calamari. It all tasted the same to include the fries. The calamari was over cooked. I will return, the food usually is good.
