This theater is a great example of a "second run" bargain movie house. The movies shown are barely out of the "first run" houses, and they offer a nice variety. Although it is not as fancy as many other theaters these days, you get a lot for $3. They have a nice range of theater snacks including fresh popcorn and a wide variety of candy items. In addition it is reasonably clean although a little worn. Now that your average ticket at a "standard" theater can easily be upwards of $14, movies have become too pricey for many consumers. Mann's offers a great date, friends, or family outing at a reasonable price. Parking is available in a lot behind the theater.

I give 5 stars as long as you know going in what to expect. It's a budget theater with movies that have been out for a while, not new releases. The theater is dated in terms of it's appearance. But this is what I expected. While the tickets are budget priced, the popcorn and beverages are in the price range of a movie theater showing new releases. Friendly staff. Good location with parking. If I were to change one thing within the parameters of a budget movie theater, I'd change or at least adjust astetically the popcorn butter machine. I love that they have the machine but something about it made me wonder if I really better use it. I like antiques but it somehow looked dirty to me. I minor suggestion. I'll be back.

Located in a charming main-street area of Hopkins. The price is right if you want to get that movie theater experience at an affordable rate. Also good to keep this place in mind if you miss a movies first run. Brookdale cinema 8 was a good competitor until it closed down. Now Plaza movie theater in white bear lake and Riverview movie theater are the main discount movie houses I've seen in the twin cities. But of the two left, this one makes the most sense for dates because of the area, atmosphere and local bars and restaurants within walking distance. Free parking in back so one less thing to worry about. Concessions are reasonably priced and the seats are not as bad as you would think. Bathroom is so-so. If your a movie-house snob then it might not be your cup of tea. If however you keep your expectations as reasonable as the price, you will probably be pleasantly surprised.

I’ve always loved going to this movie theater ever since I was a little kid growing up in Hopkins. The prices are affordable and they always have a good variety of films the whole family and people of different ages can enjoy. Friendly workers, usually a clean environment though I’m not too picky. I know that the content rotation of theater guests creates an unending amount of food debris to be picked up and vacuumed. Love the location being very centrally located and the convenience of visiting the Hopkins Center for the Arts for a play or just to walk and admire the local artists exhibits while I’m there. Very close to delicious restaurants to go to before or after your movie-going experience too such as the Big Ten.
