Beautiful beach with phenomenal waves! A short walk from half moon bay marina and popular with dog walkers. We also saw seals resting on the beach in the afternoon.

We came to Point Pillar to check put the tidepools and it was fantastic! We learned so much about the habitat that my 6-year-old wants to be a marine biologist and a princess now. Great place for picnics and even dogs if you can walk a flat 1/4 mile trail.

Very cool cliff side beach to visit even if not a surf competition at the time. Tip 1 - Small parking lot is not for squeamish on tight spaces, but has a high turnover rate if you are able to a few minutes even when very crowded. Tip 2 - The beach is dangerous for sneaker waves since there is very little space between the rocks and cliff. Tip 3 - there are hiking trails (cliff side but not great for viewing Maverick waves) that are very enjoyable.

Great place out of the way of many. Lots and lots of decaying kelp, seaweed, and sand flies to share the beach with. Everyone here is super friendly though which makes the dead detritus bearable.
