California Surf Experience - Surf Camp / Lessons

We had such a great time surfing with Ryan! HE was patient and informative and so knowledgeable. My husband and I took turns and he would give us advice on each try! While I was waiting my turn we would have great conversations as well - which is always nice - Ryan was so friendly and confident and helped us refresh our skills! I HIGHLY recommend California Surf Experience. We had checked out a few other local surf lesson places but none were as friendly or accommodating at CSE. And to top it off we got to learn from a pro! SO fun! We will try again on our next trip! Thanks Ryan for the fun time and amazing lesson!

I enjoyed my time learning to surf with California Surf Experience! Ryan's an amazing instructor. He was patient and detailed in explaining what to do and what not to do, making the experience safe and relaxing. I was able to stand up with his help and it was one of the best feeling ever! The board and wet suit provided were in good condition too. I will definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to learn to surf. Look forward to come back again soon (:

The first time we surfed with Ryan was with the guys on our 40 years birthday trip to the US (we are from Sweden). This is the best memory of the whole trip. We had never surfed but somehow Ryan managed to get us all up on the board and since then we are all stoked. Second time I went with the family and to see my 10 yrs daughter catch the wave on her first ever attempt was just amazing. A big thanks to Ryan for being a 5 star instructor, very friendly and professional both with adults and kids. Just go if you get the chance!

We took a beginner sunset lesson with Ryan yesterday as a work team event (4 people) and had a great time! Ryan did an excellent job of providing detailed 1-on-1 instructions while also making sure everyone was having fun. Would definitely recommend the sunset lesson if possible because the scenery is so nice, and Ryan prepares everything, you just show up! Thanks Ryan for an awesome time!

This was our first time surfing and it was the best experience I could have imagined! Ryan was our instructor and was a lovely person, as well as a highly skilled teacher. He was keen on safety and common sense (forget about trying to catch pics/video on your phone while in surf); getting up on the board requires ALL your focus! Everything he said came true: we were not cold, no worries about sharks, we will have fun! I was especially impressed with his ability to teach to two beginner adults with different body mechanics, and a very agile 9 yr old. He took exceptional care of my son and THAT meant the world to me! The coolest moment to see your kid ride by you on a wave with the biggest smile on his face! Ryan, thanks for wonderful memories and see you next year. Ps. Thanks also for the recommendation on Kobe beef burgers post-surf at Sapphire's.
