Those who know, and understand the past are able to grow in the present. This place will give you a wonderful perspective on those who came before us and how their lives were similar.....and different, from ours. When you look up to the Castle and consider our "cityscape" today, you can begin to imagine how these ancient cultures lived, loved and cared for their own.
Sam, one of the truly magnificent docents in the park, can share with you amazing stories, legends and facts about the culture, the life and the dreams that brought us to today. The architectural mastery of these people alone, is mind-boggling!!
And DO NOT miss Montezuma's Well while you're here!

If you have a small child or infant in tow this is a very accessible park to spend an hour or so in. You sadly can't actually go up into the ruins but there's plenty to read about and seen, all along stroller friendly paths. Paths that are largely shaded so you'll cook slightly less while walking around. Entrance fee is a bit pricey but you should probably buy the yearly pass for the national park system anyways.

Great place to bring the family. Enjoy easy hikes, ancient ruins, and interesting history. You can't tour the ruins like you could years ago, but the displays show you what life was all about here six hundred years ago. There is a cost for park admission unless you already have a national park pass. If you want a free historical site, head to nearby Montezuma's Well.

Just a short ride from Sedona is an unusual cliff-dwelling that housed around 35 people. These tribes had to build these fortresses to protect themselves from marauding warlike tribes. Although it is known as Montezuma Castle, the famous chief never made it this far North so the name is a misnomer, however it has stuck and will probably always carry this name. It's a rather peaceful park and you simply wander, explore, ask questions and enjoy almost one-on-one Ranger programs. It is a nice change from the hustle and hassles found in other tourist sites. Enjoy.

It makes a nice detour as a pit stop between Phoenix and Flagstaff. It's a small and quaint attraction with great historical significance bot nationally and humanly. Definitely something that everyone should try to check off their list.
