I just happened to see the sign for this so I turned off of North 87 and found the School House on the north side of the road. This is the first school house in Arizona, the second one is in Southern Arizona in Tubac Presidio State Park. You have to make an appointment to see the inside but I was able to see through the windows. They have done a great job of maintaining the building. I definitely look forward to going back and getting a tour of the inside!

The oldest Arizona single room schoolhouse building still standing in its original location. Nice to visit and ponder why college costs so darn much.

Perhaps the best example of an old 1 Room Schoolhouse that I've ever seen.  Worth the quick detour to see, made from huge original hewn logs over 100 years ago.

Open by appmt only apparently, so call ahead for the full tour, History.
