Motel 6 Mansfield OH

Room was beautifully remodelled in the latest style. Since there were no fridges and coffee makers in the rooms and all that junk that no-one needs, the motel can charge less. Water was very hot. Staff is very friendly and accommodating.

Key card on door didn’t work, had to go to desk to get new cards to try to get in with no luck. Finally an employee had to unlock the door for me. The water faucet in the bathtub would not shut off and had been running long enough for a large brown stain to form in the tub and mold to grow around the faucet. TV remote didn’t work. Beds and other furniture appeared to be new..

Room smelled like cigarette smoke, poorly lit and bad security, and very evident that the room was not cleaned due to a burn hole in the sheets and a used towel still in the bathroom. Spend the extra money and go elsewhere. I travel a lot and this hotel definitely goes down on the worst 5.

Not Excellent, yet not terrible, very much middle-of-the road. Inexpensive, but be prepared to get for what you pay for. No microwave, fridge (Can live with that) but no alarm clock, coffee maker or even a box of Kleenex. I would stay there again, based on price and location with the hope I'd get one of the remodel rooms next time.

The first non-smoking room reeked of tobacco smoke. The second smelled bad, but at least not of tobacco. In the second, we found a broken false fingernail and a hospital-style bracelet on the bathroom floor. One of the two bath towels had large black marks covering about 20% of its surface. Minimal hot water. Evening attendant was sick and coughing everywhere, and could not realize that a Canadian did not have a "state" - she put my city of birth as my state. She also demanded to be given my PIN number rather than pass me the terminal. Also refused an extra pillow or blanket, saying there were none. How about one from an empty room? If I had not been absolutely exhausted, I would have been out of there. In the last two weeks, I have stayed in Motel 6s in Coos Bay OR, Bakersfield CA, Springfield MO, Dale IA, and Albuquerque NM, and all have been decent value for money spent. Mansfield should be razed to the ground as a health hazard. A full refund and a written apology would seem to be the absolute minimum recompense for this travesty. I must add that the manager did contact me, explained that they were in the process of upgrading, and gave me a full refund.
