Super 8 by Wyndham Columbus

We stopped here halfway on a long road trip. We were very tired driving for 12 hours. When I pulled up to this place I was very scared. It looked very sketchy and it was dark and I was traveling with 2 kids alone with no hubby. The guy who worked the desk was very nice and I told him to NOT put me so far in another building where i had to park in the dark. He understood my concern and kept me in the first building. There are separate buildings with outside stairs to go up. I did not feel safe at all going up those stairs and WITHOUT a room key I was able to get right into the building - I DID NOT FEEL SAFE ABOUT THIS! I went and checked the room before i went in with the kids. I went in the room and it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be based on everything else outside. We were so tired and just needed some sleep. For the price you get what you pay for. Just not the most secure feeling.

Pictures are deceiving. Not worth the 57$. Dangerous. Dirty. Abandoned building next door. Cops came through the parking lot twice in the half hour I was outside at 4 pm trying to cancel my reservation. When I asked a police officer about staying in the area he actually told me it was not a nice area. Walls were cracked, missing paint. Pulled back the cover on the bed to drops of blood (best case senario housekeeping was eating fries and dropped ketchup on the sheets?) on the sheets. Painting above the bed had clear stains on it, you could very obviously see what they appeared to be. Ceiling was drop ceiling with holes plugged with something that looked like toilet paper. One lady checking in a line out the front door of people.

Super 8 Columbus was a fairly nice hotel for the rate! Continental breakfast was also a nice plus. You can't go in expecting the world from a motel, and if you keep this in mind while staying here, I think you'll be pleased with your stay. Staff was also pleasant. Lots of stuff to do nearby, too.

Friendly staff. I recommend booking online though, it was super packed when I checked in, but since I booked online my check in went super smooth. Lost my keys at 5am and they made me another no problem. Rooms are clean, and free WiFi and breakfast.

Excellent place for what it is. No reason for bad reviews. Don't expect first class when you pay coach price. It was clean with a friendly environment with basic amenities. Would stay again.
