Houston is undervalued and underestimated as an art scene. We have collections that top or rival any other city in the world. Many exhibits come through that people miss and can learn much from. We learn from old pieces, relics, and paintings that school doesn't teach us. For example, there are original media prints from the time of the American Civil War that if looked carefully, shows the devil several times advising George Washington among other political figures. This is just one example. Religious works of art reveal interactions between men and other men/women including Jesus. The Fine Arts never disappoints...especially in Houston.

It's a beautiful campus. Parking is always easy, for me. The exhibits are intriguing. The permanent collection always surprises me. I see and feel something different each visit. The new Glassell School of Art building is stunning and we a have bean!

My husband and I enjoy stopping here yearly for sure. We both enjoy the many pieces of art. From China to France, it's amazing. We had the pleasure of seeing the Michelangelo exhibit which was amazing! If you purchase a one day ticket, you can use the amount spent on it, towards a membership within 7 days!

There are 2 buildings and an outside area and another building under construction. One building is a must must must see. It is full of European and American artwork and sculptures. I suggest visiting here first. The other includes a lot of Asian and African art. This one is much quicker to go through. Also, be sure to walk across the street and check out the Houston “Bean”. One ticket will get you into both buildings and tickets are free for Bank of America customers the first weekend of every month.

A fine variety of art from different periods and artists. Disappointed in the tiered ticket prices for different exhibits ($15 for general admission and another $30 for the Michaelangelo exhibit) but still enjoyed the basic tour. The cafe was enjoyable as well with a great selection of snacks or full meals.
