I have to start off by saying I love and respect those people who serve our states, cities and towns by keeping us protected. But this police department needs more of those kinds of genuine and honest people in their law enforcement agency. I have previously been in a very abusive relationship with someone who, I later found out was displaying all the signs of a drug addiction, so I have had to rely on this police force in some very scary situations. It was during those times that I was immediately shut down, laughed at to my face and sometimes never received handwritten police reports on all occasions. Yet later in life when our daughter is older and we have already experienced a divorce, ex husband chooses to continue on his downward path of still smoking marijuana and again shoves and slams doors on me while I am trying to protect not just myself but my daughter as well, he receives the report. I do not call them often, in fact it is because of my respect for them that I try to resolve most situations calmly on my own if it is possible but more times than not I feel that these men/women are using some situations to better themselves to climb whatever invisible totem pole they have placed between them and those that seek their support, those who are struggling to make a living, raise children and finish up a degree all at the same time. My opinion of this police force has changed tremendously since this relationship. Not only am I a student but I am also a single mom, however, this does not give my ex-husband or any man or woman the right to take away my right to be served justice. All I am asking is stay lawful but don't create crisis and certainly but most importantly, don't make things worse. I am not sure if police departments are trained on whether or not they should know how to read/feel a situation (walking into a room and immediately being able to feel tension or happiness by the surroundings, etc) but if not, I highly suggest it be added to training process. My experiences and opinions can be changed so it is with this comment that I leave here with hopes that something changes in this police department because as someone seeking a degree to later help those get through similar situations, it is clear this town and all others surrounding it cannot grow in a positive direction if money always triumphs over evil.

I give 5 stars to the ones that help me.Zero stars to the ones that dont help me. It is quite a diverse group of officers. No consistency in how the laws are interpreted and executed. The young officers are gullible to the lies and sob stories of homeless people and criminals and addicts. The older officers know better. Some of the young officers are passive aggressive and refuse to do their job by saying theres nothing they can do.So I am on my own.And if I shoot someone for breaking in or trespassing or attacking me I could be prosecuted.Oh i miss texas where its legal to shoot people when they break into your home.

Your police officer are “police” officers not medical doctors or trained medical examiners to make the proper determination on Wether a person needs medical attention or not, to the chief of police your officers need more training and need to be reminded of what their duties actually are, the way they handled Mr. Kessee was unprofessional very disappointing to watch
