For the price, the apartments could be better. The windows are really outdated and in the winter you will notice a draft in the older apartments. Parking is a pain, if you get home after 5p.m, good luck trying to find a spot to park. The drive around security is a joke, in a year and a half I've seen them driving around maybe 3 times. Watch your vehicles here, I caught someone trying to cut my catalytic converter off and scared off a guy looking into other residents cars.
Lived at Olentangy for 2 years and it was okay but when I moved out my roommates and I were charged ridiculous charges. The leasing office would not give us reasons not Susan. When you move out take pictures of everything so you don't get scammed. The maintenance was always kind and very helpful.
Wow I’ve lived here for two years and this place needs more reviews! I really love OV! My apartment is super cute and charming. It is old but that’s part of the charm! The wall and ceiling are cracked but it doesn’t bother me. The kitchen is small but I made it work. The neighborhood is really nice and I love the location. The neighbors are nice, the pool is nice, there is usually parking right in front on your building. Sometimes I can hear my neighbors but it’s never too bad, I definitely can’t hear conversations unless my neighbors are fighting lol. Honestly it’s great, really only docking a star because it is so old and I wish I had at least 1 more amenity in my apartment such as a washer and dryer or central air just to make the living situation more convenient. Also there’s a lot of stairs. It doesn’t bother me but I live on the third floor, which I love, but my guests don’t lol
My car has been broken twice in only three months… And the facility here is old. What’s worse is that my leasing term starts at August 8th last year , but ends at July 30th this year. It’s unfair for residents since the leasing term is less than 12 month but we paid for the whole year
Lived here for five years through college and graduation. Stayed for so long because it was an awesome place. Maintenance was always quick, it’s quiet, and the river view is beautiful. Waking trails are nearby and my building had a shared garden in the courtyard. All of my neighbors were nice and many had been living there for 5+ years as well. Giant Eagle and the bus stop are walkable so it was great for me during school. The parking and laundry situations kind of suck. Parking lot was always super full. Laundry machines were often down for repair. But the positives outweigh the negatives by far for me. Thanks for all of the great years!
It’s been okay I guess but they upped rent and water charge. What makes me upset is that they make it seem like they’re doing you a favor by charging $115 a month for water in a one bedroom but I’ve found another place that charges $39 a month AND included a washer dryer in unit. Seems crooked that you’re paying so much for water and on top of that have to pay for laundry as well. Don’t even get me started on the parking situation…getting home after 6pm? Good luck finding anything near your building. I’ve had to lug Costco hauls 10 minutes since there is never anything near my building. Also people here park like no laws apply to them which makes driving especially dangerous. They recently told us that safety with regard to parking and sidewalks during the winter is “ultimately your responsibility” which just didn’t sit right with me. When they plow, snow takes up multiple parking spots and also creates little drifts behind/besides the car which makes us really hard to get out. They’ve also posted multiple notices within a short time frame for spraying the apartment which requires you moving everything away from your walls but never tell you if it’s actually been done. There just doesn’t seem to be a real care about the residents here so I am glad I found another place. UPDATE: They put yet another notice of pest spraying and because it was the fourth one in a few months i went to the office to ask about it. I was told it will be happening monthly or sometimes multiple time in a month during the warmer months. It is extremely inconvenient that on those days, furniture needs to be moved and cabinets need to be emptied. Pets also have to be locked up and because the spraying occurs during work hours, they could be locked up all day long.
I lived here 4 years. The good? Beautiful exterior community, large brick buildings, terrace, pool, access to olentangy trail, great location walking distance to OSU but not too much of a college atmosphere, walking distance to lots of great Clintonville/old north bars and restaurants. The leasing office staff is very pleasant and easy to work with. Maintenance also responds very quickly same day or next day to issues. The bad? The “classic village” is beautiful on the outside but is very outdated. My apartment did not have a washer/dryer, dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave, or central AC. Also parking is a nightmare. There are way too many residents and not enough spots. I didn’t feel safe walking long distances to my apartment at night alone minimal lighting too. If you get home after 5:30pm, good luck. You might be parking at giant eagle. The walls are thin. You can easily hear your neighbors. Luckily mine weren’t too bad. Just some things to take into consideration!
Terrible services…extremely inconvenient to pick up packages leasing office/mail room is always closed for thousands reasons. The leasing process is also very unpleasant, no one seems professional must be the world easiest job to work for OV
Austin was sooo helpful!!! Olentangy Village is so lucky to have him as a part of their team.
Filled out an application after being very impressed with the facility and the amenities offered for the price point - they took a security deposit to reserve an apartment for me, but only after that application had completed and that deposit was no longer refundable did they decide to mention that an exorbitant insurance policy is required which effectively put me beyond my budget for the apartment. Their deposits are non-refundable after 3 days, which is conveniently for them a shorter time period than the application actually took to process. Be aware of that before you decide to apply here. If you change your mind there's a very good chance you wont get that supposedly refundable deposit back.
