Palen Music Center

Always enjoy visiting Palen Music. Have been to both the Springfield and Joplin locations, I have also ordered gear online. I was tired of getting misled by other stores selling me on stuff only to find out later it was stuff I didn't need. Palen has always only suggested what I need and at a great price.

Great selection amd prices! It's odd...sometimes I get great customer service and sometimes I don't. For instance, one day i was looking at capos and then a guy was talking with me about ukeleles and what can he do to help. Then another day i was ignored (different people working that day) Of course, i guess it depends on the people working there and honestly i don't mind. I really like the atmosphere they encourage you to play the instruments and have fun shopping. A guy even encouraged me to stay and play as long as i like to find tge best instrument for me.

As a military guy, I move a lot and have been to a LOT of guitar stores. This is a great one! They have a terrific selection of great guitars and amps and also a great selection of pedals that are easy to try out. Kevin is probably the best sales guy I’ve ever worked with. He has extensive product knowledge and great passion for playing and talking gear! We spent a ton of time just talking gear and felt like we were old buddies after 10 minutes. I HIGHLY recommend this place!!!

Owning several high end guitars I walk in like a total oblivion before flaunting my wallet. Needless to say I drive out to Memphis and give my money directly to Gibson. Dylan was real nice everyone was a real chode

Imagine my dismay as i excitedly went in to get a strap, some picks, and a beginner book for my newly acquired guitar. This is a retirement dream. First, I was ignored. Then I asked for help and the guy pointed to the straps and couldn't find the picks. The second guy at the desk said he could help then got on the phone. I stood there and finally asked a third guy who shoved a book at me. I then picked out a strap, found picks and made my purchase. No one was friendly or helpful. I know this was not a big deal for them but it really lowered my expectations. Now I really need some help to see if my strings and action are ok for a beginner. Where can I take my guitar??
