Petland Discounts - Ninth Avenue

Very poor -upon entering the store staff on cell phones. Had purchased tropical fish - one died within two days- I was subjected to the most rude and disrespectful attitude of two assistants. I had called in the morning with the view to purchasing more fish, a second tank filters etc. After receiving such appalling service, and staff yelling have a nice day as leaving the store - I think PETCO a much better option. Petland was more convenient- I would definitely walk the extra miles to avoid such service at Petland. Well they lost out on many new purchases and the fact I have other loved pets too.

Great hours - I always am happy to have this store near home. The staff most of the time knows their stuff.

Over 2 1/2 yrs ago I bought a thin baby Gerbil. She was the smallest and youngest in a tank of 20 others. A ten gallon tank should NEVER have more than 3 at a time. The tank label stated Assorted. It should have stated Male & Female. I came home with a pregnant Gerbil. The staff didn't know or care about the animals. If I hadn't adopted the tiny one, she wouldn't have grown to be an adult. She couldn't get food as fast as the adults and was starving.
